Taipan Mutant bash-a-thon
So over the last few months we have seen an outright planned attack against the mutant. It started on another forum and ended here with SniperQTY damaging his own reputation in the airgun world.
First let me explain who SniperQTY is. He is an airgun dealer in Kuwait who sells many different brands of airguns but his most popular and profitable model is the Vulcan. I have read that people believe that he is the “only honest dealer” in the airgun business. First off such a creature does not exist. Everyone who makes money in an industry is not “honest”, that is at some point profit will come before honesty. Secondly Mr Sniper has a history of threatening airgun manufactures, stating that he will ruin their company if they don’t comply with his demands. Mr Sniper has done this most recently to Taipan and EDgun in the past. Mr Sniper was attempting to use YouTube, AGN and Talon to advance his threats and agenda. In my opinion Mr Sniper has damaged his reputation and he will not recover from his subterfuge.
Along with the attacks from Sniper there have been accusations that I am an “industry insider”, or that I am a plant from Talon Tunes set to advance sales of Talon Tunes in Florida. This is completely false. I have only ever been a customer of Tony Annuzzi. Some have questioned my motives for making review videos or typing kind words about the Taipan. Well I will publicly admit my motives are partially altruistic and partially selfish. The altruistic part is that I get excited about airguns. I love to share my experiences with PCP guns that excite me so that others may learn what I have discovered. The selfish part of me wants more variety of offerings. I am hoping that enough competition in the market causes prices to drop and technological advancements to bring new exciting things for me to fawn over. I admit I have a total and complete addiction to PCP airguns. I bought every single gun I have reviewed from someone for the same price that any other average Joe would buy the gun for. I know it doesn’t seem super exciting that I am not a secret airgun agent here to boost sales. But alas this is the truth.
I currently own 1 mutant but I have owned 3 in total. I sold the standard to a friend in order to buy a short. Another friend talked me into selling him my original short Mutant. After being without the short for a few weeks I promptly re-purchased another. Then Dman1114 sent me a new barrel to test and that is the gun in my review video.
current Short Mutant, only modification was Dman1114’s barrel

First short I purchased sold to a friend: (he still owns it and loves the hell out of this little gun)

Standard I got from Dman’s original import (I refinished the wood) I miss this gun

So there it is. Believe it or not that is the whole truth.

This community needs more people who can tell it straight about airguns, and without doing it for financial gain. Kudos to Keyser for being one of those people. Ask the man a straight question, and I’ve come to expect a straight answer from said Keyser. Until he shows me different, I will suspect any detractors (except the kidding kind) of hidden (profit) agendas.
slightly OT, I heard from Petr of TGAG. The CZ barrels for the Shorts are on the way. No deadline was given, but they are said to be in the mail. Maybe March some time?
