That sounds like a reasonable design expectation. But as was mentioned, likely the other components / receiver were re-engineered to handle the .25 and may be more expensive to manufacture. Who knows – maybe the .25 will cost more than the .22 version. Guess we just have to wait to find out.
I’m more interested in the .22 (at least at first) and I’d buy the current std version if they were available.
Surely all you need to do is put a .22 barrel/shroud/pellet probe and lower reg pressure to get the features to a .22
Yes and no.
From a marketing point of view you are absolutely right, makes no sense.
Less so from an Engineering and manufacturing point of view. If the new caliber is engineered on a different base/platform due to durability or whatever other reasons, then one must see whether the new features can be integrated into the existing one, and how much more engineering it takes to do so–> more work, more investment more risk for pay back of investments.
Same for manufacturing, investments already done for the existing caliber (tooling, programming, production layout, parts stock and logistics) need to be modified or replaced –> increase risk for pay back.
For the new caliber no issue, as people are waiting for it, it will sell, if the manufacturer did his research.
For the existing caliber this is more risky, as people already have the predecessor version and will not necessarily change and buy the new one because of some extra features. New buyers might be buying the new caliber directly.
Why would anyone develop upgrades and improvements on a system and only have it on one single caliber? That makes zero sense. But then I know companies that have made plenty of decisions that made zero sense, so I suppose the question is relevant.
Good question about the changes going to be on the .22 also…
The changes are the following.
The main changes
“anti second bullet” system
Reinforced construction for 6.35
Increased reservoir ( 280cc for std, 350cc for long )
Tilt plank picatinny 20 moa
Barrel mounting thread
It changed the design of the pressure reducing valve
Think the .22 cal will have these changes too or just the .25 caliber version?
:hoot:
Mike…
For those of us for whom our dicks no longer stand at attention to greet us when we awaken…I salute you! Which is probably a “first”, since I know of no other man who normally salutes a prick!
While it is true I no longer have that car, or the toes on my right foot…it was a “learning experience”. Forever afterward, I unloaded my shotgun before I changed a flat tire!!!.
While you may have to sleep with your head in a safe from now on…no one can say you can’t hold your ‘likker’.
Now…What’s wrong with an LW barrel???? These barrels have been tack drivers in every pcp I ever owned. I don’t understand the fuss????
Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot:
Mike, if you don’t like LW, just get the Priest. I would love to hear your opinion on it and a comparison to your other guns
Hoot
Hell in Arkansas you can get real moon shine not the cheap store bought stuff,
Flat tires, and PCP person knows to stick the barrel of the gun in the hole and keep shooting until the tire is aired up….
I know you tried this with a loaded shot gun and it did not work for you,
You have to have a PCP gun, How many times have I told you that,
Dentist, Hell I do not remember going to any Mexican Dentist, Yea, Jaw hurts , I thought it was the dam bar fight I got into on the border town
Hoot just remember when the mind starts slipping they take your guns and sling shots away,
Just step away from the fruit cake and put the knife down,
Mike
Oh back to the MK2 if no CZ barrel, well I will need a price break , Dam Priest is getting the 25 cz barrel,
That’s just wrong,,,,

There was nothing wrong with the last version of the .22 caliber.
The design changes may/may not be universal, but I would expect “economy of scale” would dictate that he order these upgrades In all his new guns, as it would be very expensive to make two kinds of parts for different calibers!
My money is on him putting the same equipment in all his guns…why wouldn’t he? It would be expensive and time consuming to separate the parts in order to install them in the correct gun. Makes no sense to me.
