Taipan Mutant/Veteran .22 .25 shorty std DB sound test
I ran across some hard too find sound info, testing the Taipan 22 short, 25 short, & 25. standard back to back. Looks like in the three shot tests.
Thought I’d pass it along. :biggrinn:
May be help for some one, thinking of what Taipan too get.
The 22. Taipan short the sound DB was 90db, 91db, & 83db I’ve seen it tested in the 80db range.
The 25. Taipan short was 85db, 88db, & 82db thats pretty good for a short barrel 25. pushing over 40 fpe.
Then the 25. Taipan standard was 86db, 91db, & 87db.
What are you guys thoughts on this. 🙄

I shot mine today without the ldc and it was very very quiet!

Ain’t it crazy how quiet the Standard .25 is? It’s the quietest AG I have, and the most powerful. My Prod is still louder with its own Sumo than my Veteran with Sumo, now Ronin. I got 2 pistols that are louder with their short barrels even though they are graced with Sumos. Of course with the shorter barrels that’s expected. I’m just so in-love with my Taipan .25.
Poor thing might be getting a small break as it’s been hovering between 110-116 degrees out.
My shorty .22 at 28fpe is not loud at all but is louder than my standard .25 with the sumo shooting at 45fpe but that thing is damn near silent. Still the Shorty doesn’t need an LDC as it isn’t loud. Pellet impact is still louder which is all that matters to me :8:

Yes Hoot the Veteran 25 shorty is quite,
But not as quite as the 22 shorty,
I put a Donny fat boy on my shorty 25 and its got a pop to it if your shooting it, Not so much if you are standing 10 to 15 feet from the gun.
With Donny’s LDC I call it very back yard friendly , To be honest I have never tried it with out the LDC.
I have made some shots with this gun that has me thinking , Ted must be my brother , Its in the blood,
Joking, Its the dam gun, And the poor suckers on AGN think there 2000 dollar FX gun shoots good as long as the problems are fixed, What dumb asses .

the .25 shorty is fantastic….will give all some time and see maybe sell off the mutant .22 shorty and the veteran .25 std.
If they ever come out with a .25 long then for sure I’ll get rid of the .25 std and get the .25 long
