Q:

TALKED TO A.F. HAND PUMP ON BACK ORDER-ANYONE KNOW WHY???

A.F. sent me an e-mail confirming what my dealer said about the pump being on back order. Does anyone know why it’s on back order? Like a design change/improvement???? Thanks.

Damn Silent sorry to hear about the problems you had there. Guys how do I know if mine has a moisture trap? Where is it?

Savagesam my air force pump was a lemon from day one. It would pump intermittently but I didn’t know any better because I was new to pcp. When it finally broke 7 months latter I purchased a axsor pump from pyramid that works a lot better. Where the air force adaptor screws into the pump is a weak area. Mine got stripped and the bottle blew off.

The seals on my pump started leaking a couple of weeks ago. It is getting hard to pump above 2500 and it has a bad squeak on some internal part. When air is release via the quick release valve, a large amount of oil is blown out with it.

As I said, I use the pump carefully, go slow and don’t pump over 50 or 60 pumps at a time. Shouldn’t be happening after 2 months of use.

Good to know Kevin. Thanks

As to the AF pump sourcing problem. First the new Benjamin Discovery combo pkg includes the same pump made for AF. The production company is now busy making pumps for a much bigger company and thus AF is getting the short end here. Do to limited availability of the AF pump, we have begun offering the Benjamin Discovery pump as a substitute for our AF pumps as they are 100% identical, only difference is the label. These pumps also feature a standard moisture filter. Our Benjamin Discovery pumps sell for the same as the AF pumps and include a braided hose as to not require the tank to be protruding off the base at a angle, much better IMO. Our recent AF pumps received last week, had the new moisture filters and even came in the same white box as the Disco set up does. Just a quick FYI update!

There is nothing wrong with the AF pump. The current one is being made in china were in the past I beleive they were made by FX. I do not own a pump but the problems that keep getting reported are if it overheats the seals can get ruined. So be careful and pump as directed.

Also do not ever take it apart! If it stops working call Airforce and use your warranty. You can not fix that pump yourself. And if you open it at all you void your warranty.

Pump away!

Guy’s

I am new…,
What is wrong with the AF pump, I just bought one when I bought my gun

LMFAO Guys I already went out and bought one. Paid too much ($199.95) too. But didn’t want my new toy to get here (hopefully Friday) and have no way to use it.

They are probably waiting for the barefoot pregnant 10 year old girl in China to finish anodizing it 😆

SAVAGESAM, probably you’d get more responses if not in the Quick Reference section. 🙂

I’d say take this as an opportunity to upgrade to the Hill pump. There was a thread on here started by RiffRaff about his AF pump going out and a few more chiming in. Well, my AF pump bought new in February and used almost daily is showing signs of trouble already despite my careful use of it.
