Q:

Tallon ss 177 condor top hat assm?

my new tallon ss shoots 7.9 CP at about 920, with a 2800 fill. pleased with the accuracy. id like to switch to the 10.5 to get less wind drift. can i get the condor high flo top hat assm and striker weight, keep my 12″ barrel, and see a significant difference? also, how hard to put in the striker weight? thanks for any replies. as a new owner i’ve found this site extremely informative. 😀

Try a Big Boy Senior 15.8gn 177 pellet. I get 20% more knockdown power from my 12″ 177 TSS stock tank over a 10.5gn pellet. Serious power from 177… http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/Predator_Big_Boy_Senior_177_cal_15_8_Grains_Domed_150ct/804

More weight, longer acceleration, more energy transferred from your condor tank.

Wow,
Contrary to popular belief!
Did some testing with a Condor Hiflo on a TSS .177
Funny, been having problems with the standard Talon SS valve.
The Condor Hiflow seems to have a very stiff valve seal (preload) spring.
I can crank the PW all the way and get good numbers on the chrony.
Light standard pellets can go over 1100 fps 10.5 grainers can get up to 1100 fps. However turn the wheel down and the TSS can shoot around 600 FPS and its also very quiet. The Condor Hiflo starts out quieter than the TSS valve right off the mark. Would not know this unless you have a Talon SS and a Condor to play with.
BTW I crank the TSS valve to 10+ PW, heavy 10.5 grain .177 and with a 3K fill I get a partial tank dump.
I would like to know how a heavier hammer in the TSS with a hiflo would preform. That might start to waste air. The way I see it it most folk probably drop 12″ into Condor 24’s. Condors come with a heavier hammer from the box. So that would explain the wasted air. I know that with the TSS hammer and Condor Hiflow I can be garunteed with 90% certainty that numbers can be consistant. I am so convinced that I purchased a backup Hiflo vale to put on the TSS due to the many, original TSS valve problems that I have experianced!!!

with .177 10.5 premiers or even 10.6 kodiaks you can get 920fps on pw 8 or so for just about 20ft/lbs stock SS .177 …..will only have about 20 shots above 900fps —so it will use alot of air–id fill to 2800psi and shoot down to 2400psi —–the 18″ .177 barrel makes the 10.5 and 10.6 pellets fly as fast as 1040 on pw 10—but can shoot 30+ shots between 900 and 960——-as far as accuracy goes the 10.2/10.3 jsb heavy does real well at 950 or so– ive printed some of my most impressive groups with the 10.5 premier and 10.3 jsb—

You will significantly waste a lot of air with very little(if any) increase in veloicty.
