Short answer, yes.

Long answer, there is way too much power for .177. My Talon SS had a high flow valve and a 24″ .177 barrel for a while. It was hurling 16 grain Eun Jin pellets downrange at 1140 FPS. Lots of power, but couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn while standing inside. I manage to tune it down to where they were doing 880 FPS and get 1″ groups at 25 yards. Everything else still went supersonic and grouped like a shotgun.
