Q:

talon shoot down?

I was shooting today…I have 2 talons both of which I recently got used from some ghentleman here on TAG. I was shooting the SS I got and it seemed like every 5th shot or so would only go about 20 yds…I was shooting at a target 55 yds away. Neither the other Talon I have nor my Condor will do this. Could it be the tank? It has over 2500psi in it.

It may need cleaning inside the frame. Pull the bbl., Spring and hammer, clean well, and lube with some dry silicone spray. It should get things consistent again.

Grab a thick telephone directory and shoot 4 inches from the first page. You’ll quickly gauge the power, or lack of.

I found my Talon SS reliable with the stock HPA tank. The second tank I bought has a lower top hat setting. I must pull the breech fully home into the top hat otherwise I get a weak shot. Easy to remember once you get into the habit.

Both tanks operate reliably on the same fill pressure, same PW setting, and same POI out to 35 yards (my max range). They also clear 700-800 pages from the phone directory on a fresh fill. I have a 177, 12 inch barrel.

Did you push the breach handle to the side. I forgot to push it to the side on my condor and it had a weak ass shot.

And you could be over filling as well 🙄 🙄 🙄

Just make shure to swap the tanks between the SS and talon and not the SS and condor…cause the condor will fire with that tank problem or no…and the SS will barely get the pellet outta the barrel

Duh… I’ll try that the next time I get to shoot.

Try switching the tanks on your SS and Talon to see if the valve is sticking…

It might be the hammer catching something when you fire. Try using your other Talon tank to determine if it is the tank or rifle.
