Talon SS .177 to .25 what would I need
Hi, Guys and Gals I’m new to this site, bought a stock from Blitzkrieg and have been following some of your topics on things so thought I’d jump in say Hi and ask a couple of questions. Appreciate your help in advance.I have a Talon SS in .177 that I was wanting to sell to buy me a .25cal but thought maybe I’d just change what I have over, question is what would I need and what would it cost me to swap calibers or would I be better off to just sell it and buy a 25. 😀 Thanks Again Terry

The longer barrel allows for the air to work on the pellet for a longer time, increasing the muzzle velocity. He should be able to turn the power wheel down and not open the valve as much. With the longer barrel he may not need a new valve, but he wants to keep it short so he is going to need more air to get the larger pellet up to speed.
I may not have been making myself clear. I apologize for any confusion.
You can get just the valve, but the cost difference of getting the tank and valve is minimal, about $30. You will probably find that at times you may want to quickly swap out to “low” power and a .177 barrel.
You can get shroud extensions for any length barrel from Talon Tunes or R & L Airgun Supply.
Keep in mind that the longer the barrel, the more efficient it is. It all depends on what you want. I am building a Talon SS and I am planning on using a 16″ .25 or .30 barrel. That increases the efficiency over the 12″ barrel, but allows me to put some baffling in the frame to take the edge off without making it longer.
Thanks Guys for the input, true I would like to keep the length the same, can you just put the condor valve in the tank I have and I checked the AF site the difference between a 12″ and 18″ bbl is about $40 bucks and i’d just have to get a shroud extension right or a 24″ bbl and a thread adapter for my ParisD LDC. ❓
You guys are both right and wrong. If he wants to keep his TSS short and sweet, he will want the 12″ barrel. With that he will need a hammer weight and a Condor valve/tank assembly.
Now, if he does not mind adding another 6″ or more to the length of his TSS, then he can get away with just the 24″ barrel for awhile. Of course he will soon want to put a shroud on that.
My suggestion is keep the .177 and get a barrel, weight and tank. Then you have two rifles in one. Then you can add other barrels, shrouds etc. as you desire.
You would need the Condor Hi flow valve & the extra striker weight.
I may be wrong but I don’t believe the .177 valve will give you the performance out of the .25 your gonna want.
I’m looking to put a .22 barrel in my .117 Talon & am already looking for a Condor valve for it.

Hey guys Thanks a lot for all the info, I think this is going to be fun working up something, talked to ELDY about one of his 9mm kits sounds like that might be something i’d like to try also.
