Talon SS .20 Calibre question?
Hi folks. I would like to know if anybody can supply me with velocity and Fpe figures for a Stock Standard SS in .20 caliber.
I will be shooting JSb 13.7gr and EJ 23.7 gr pellets. I want to use it for short range (30-50m) sniping on pidgeons, grakles etc.
What performance can be expected if a Condor or Blodknob valve is fitted?
Looks like a very accurate compact airgun.

I got a factory ss – and with the 18″ .20cal barrel I get mid to high 900s with the pw set to around 9.5-10 using 13 gr kodiaks, accuracy is teriffic. Just gotta get my .20cal pellet stock up.
I have a 17.3″ barrel in .20 cal. Using a standard Condor valve and a 75gm hammer it will shoot Eunjins @ 970fps. Kodiaks @ 1040fps. Predators @ 1030fps, and Benjamin cylindrical @ 1060fps. These are all maximum velocity I reached in 4 days testing.
The barrel is a custom I bought from Chimp. I think he said it was a Benjamin or BSA barrel, I forget which. It has the throat bored a little, EJs seat very easy. Probably why they shoot best in the barrel.
Can’t really help with the standard info. I have a talon SS with a 20″ and 24″ barrel. I also have a heavy hammer and hiflo valve.
with the 20″ barrel I get the following:
JSB’s (small choke) 930 fps
JSB’s (5 mm choke) 1050 fps
Enjins (5 mm choke) 900 fps
Now with my Blodnob valve and a 24″ barrel I get:
JSB’s +1250 fps (should increase with a stronger spring)
Enjins + 980 fps ( am hoping for 1050 with the new spring)
I am looking at buying a 2nd SS. That way I get 3 rifle for the price of 2

Come on guys, surely there must me more .20 caliber nuts out there with some good info?
What would a Talon .20 18inch with blodknob valve shoot like? I know .22 is your favourate caliber in the U.S, but the assholes in the South African goverment decided that .22 or bigger must be licensed as firearms. It takes 12-18 months to get a FAC at the moment. They can suck my Glock!!

Hi 30-06. My Talon with 18″ barrel and stock valve can shoot jsb’s @ about 980fps, but uses more than 1.5bar per shot and only for a few shot before dropping off. Now i’m shooting jsb’s @ +- 930 fps for around 50 shots with a very low e.s and it uses about 0.6bar per shot (26ft/lbs).
