talon ss .22cal + 9" TT LDC + "Home-depot" sound-loc
Just some info for those searching, as I am a brand new airforce user/ owner and want to share what little I can…
Bought a used talon ss .22 cal from someone on yellowforum – great dude btw, he threw in the fill adaptor and tri-rail for nothing. Previous owner said he had it tuned for mid 800 FPS…
The safety has been removed, which I prefer – trigger feels good… he also had installed a home-made “home depot” type baffle system in the ‘expansion’ area of the ss muzzle exit, which consisted of springs wrapped in a heavy felt, separated by fender washers with some electrical tape around them to increase their OD to fit snug in ID of OEM barrel shroud.
I never heard/ fired a talon ss before, so I tried it at 2800-2900 psi with the ‘home depot” system installed, it ate up the report of the shot but still was pretty loud to me – so then I removed all of the “home depot” stuff and fired it with nothing in the expansion chamber (with cap off) and it sounded like .22cal rimfire!
I have heard of others using the TT LDCs with the sound-loc system, so then I decided to re-install as much of the ‘home depot’ system as would fit plus the 9″ TT LDC…
Right now, all I hear is the hammer slap – can’t wait to install a slap mod hammer in this thing!
I am extremely happy with this. Glad I did not opt for the condor SS as that rig with a 9″ TT LDC would be ridiculously long and cumbersome.

Hi,
I just added a version of the “home depot” suppressor on one of my SS’s; mine is a “ACE” version 🙂
It does make a difference. I would keep it in there.
Fun shooting!
Cheers
