Talon ss doubts
What the max effective range of this weapon on .22?
Before you ask i define “max effective range” as the maximum range you can shoot the 22. talon ss and hitting your target a minimum of 6 out of 10 times.

Too complicated… 😕
Better is to forget all this silencer thing or I might go to Portuguese Alcatraz. 😆 😆
They consider a silencer to the “firearm accessory destined to reduce the noise of its shoot”.
Wait, It sid “firearm”! We’re not talking of that! I’d say you’re OK! âž¡
That depends on how they “define” what a firearm is.
On the other hand, I don’t know what the prisons look like in Portugal either!
That’s got me laughing… lol
Sorry…….. but, thanx….. lol
About Portugese laws I know nothing, but I will say that in my opinion the standard frame on an SS that happens to enclose the end of the barrel is neither removable nor “an accessory.” It is an integral part of the frame.
As we all know, “firearm” is a loaded term (pun intended) but if the law defines a silencer/shroud/suppressor as a removable item or an accessory then I think you’re probably OK as long as you don’t add an extension to the stock frame.

Maybe ask AF if there is someone selling their product locally?

Quote: I read the portuguese laws concerning silencers and they are not very clear in this aspect.

Then as Adam said, your SOL
Thats wrong. It all starts with the most stupid thing:
We don’t differentiate Shrouds of Silencers in our language.
Then in the law they are not very clear. They say its illegal to have a removable silencer.
And, because we don’t have a different word for shroud, it includes everything that lowers the shooting sound. 😕 😕
Ok then going by what your saying you SHOULD be ok with a shroud NOT a silencer. Again, I said SHOULD be ok.
No. In Portugal we only have problems with Air guns if they are Identical to real models
Zergotron, you need to find out if your laws differenciate between an air rifle/pellet gun and a fire arm OR do they consider them one and the same???
yes a talon ss can and will drop rabbits at 80 yards with center of mass shots using 28 grain pellets, ive done it more times than i can remember, but it all depends on the shooters skills, i have a friend who added a 18 inch barrel and he’s taking them out at over a 100 + yards
Thats true…
But im talking in general…
the maximum “effective range that you can hit a target” all depends on you and your abilities, not the rifle. just about any rifle and pistol made today is far more accurate than most shooters can shoot. like anything else, if you want to shoot good you have to practice, practice, practice and when you are tired of practicing….practice some more.

depends on how crappy a hooter you are,
could be 5 feet, could be 50 yards. 🙄

Around here, nothing would become of any gun part unless the “gun” was involed to a crime. I’ve had police see & know about mine (TSS) for some time. Even went to show neibors so they wouldn’t freak on seeing me\it in the yard or through a window. They look (especially with add-ons) real serious high style. This from in a town that is so small! This being NO- sling shots, blowgun any size, bbshooter, etc. or ya get a $500 dollar fine. Most (olat) near are elderly and could report anything they “don’t” like; to make a fuss.
