Talon ss goes slower
I recently got a Talon ss and I was testing it on the chrony today and at pw 3 it was shooting 8.2 gr. at 874, then at pw 5 910, when I went up more, the shots just did like 890, I don’t know why the shots would slow down with a higher pw setting, haven’t run accross this before, my th is set at .085, any ideas people?

I’m getting higher velocity with my .177 with the standard bottle by using a 70 gram hammer with it. It doesn’t take much to get a .177 to screaming along and for me just changing hammers did the trick.
What .177 pellets come in 16 grain ? I’m using 10.5 grain CPH’s but would like to try a heavier pellet that has a higher BC.
I’m trying to get the SS up in power so I can shoot 16 gr. .177’s, around 800fps. would be nice, even 720fps. would make me happy but I don’t think that many people shoot heavy .177’s. I don’t know I tried my condor tank and was going up on pw and the tank dumped at 1040fps. using the 8.2 superpoints, so I thought I’d try to jack up the spring and hammer and use the talon tank and it seems to go slower, I’m just trying this and that, maybe I’ll stumble on to something with more tests.
Hey Maw,
It’s my understanding after reading too way too much on this forum.( I don’t have a good place to shoot 😥 )..that the power wheel works in conjunction with the top hat adjustment. One must use a chrony and continually refine these adjustments until the preferred optimization is acheived.

Come on o.k. I put 2,2 euros between the hammer and spring, knocked out the insides and ground down the outside smooth, got any ideas yet.
