Talon SS or Condor SS, which is quieter?
I’m on the lookout for a nice air rifle to pop up in the classifieds and I have my mind set on an AirForce rifle. I’m not decided on which rifle to buy. Between a Talon SS and the Condor SS, set at the same psi, which air rifle is quieter?

Let me make sure I understand this correctly:
The Condor has the High-Flow valve for .22/.25 calibers. Yes
The Condor has the “low” flow valve for .177. No the .177 condor still has a high flow just a different valve spring rate than the .22/.25 valve
The Talon uses the “low” flow valve for all calibers (.177/.22/.25) Yes
Any difference in hammer between these? Condor shares the extra weight hammer in all calibers and the talon has a lighter hammer for all calibers.

If all you are going to do is kill feral soda cans in the back yard, go with the .177 Talon SS. If you want to be serious about hunting small game, go with the .25 Condor SS.
Only the condor uses a different valve for the .177. The talon has the same valve for all the calibers.
Something to keep in mind whichever way you go is that the .177 versions use a different valve than the .22 and .25. You can easily tune the high flow valve down enough to use a .177 barrel, but you have to rebuild the standard .177 valve to get the most out of .22 and .25.

If you are talking stock unmodified then the Talon ss is quieter than the Condor SS. They both use a set of 3 baffles and the condor pushes more air so unless it is detuned the Condor SS will be louder. The .177 Talon SS on a low power tune like 14 or 15 fpe will be quieter than the .22 but not by much. I have A Talon SS in both calibers and there is not a big difference in noise.
The smaller calibers are generally quieter than the larger ones, but it also depends on how one tunes their gun.
The higher the velocity in each cal the louder the each gets.
There’re after market add on shrouds for the AF Airguns, but it comes with a cost and some added length.

Also, how much quieter is the .177 compared to the.22 or the .25?

Got it! Since the Condor has the same tank valve & heavy hammer, they changed the valve spring to reduce the amount of air release. Since there is not visible difference is why thy mark the tanks “For .22/.25 Only”.. it has the lighter valve spring.
