Talon SS Question (Talon or Talon SS Owners)
I have a Condor 22 (I love it for extreme range) and a Marauder 25 (my power house) which I shoot primarily from a private deck bench (overlooking 20 acres of woods) rest but I am looking for something lighter/shorter to carry around for squirrel and pigeons on the farm and in the woods. I would like the best power (min maybe 20 fpe more is better), accuracy, and range (50 yards) to hit and kill squirrels.
I see they advertise that the Talon has slightly has better accuracy than the Talon SS. Why?
I like the potential quietness of the SS. Which caliber would you recommend?
Are there any other small light PCP carbines in the same power/accuracy? I don’t want to do mods.

Thanks for all of the info. Now I am wondering about the claim of 50 fpe on the Talon P pistol coming out this summer. That would be amazing if possible. Do you guys think they are stretching the realm of reality a bit? I am tempted to wait for it even though it is .25.
you can do what blue jay said and get a shroud or internal baffel core along with the 12 inch barrel.
or you can get one of these
talon with .22 cal barrel shoots CP around 800-830 fps
if you want something cheaper you can get a talon ss with an internal baffel core.

Probably due to the higher velocity of the Talon’s longer barrel..The higher velocity more than likely helps maintain accuracy at longer distances. This , of course with equally equipped/prepared guns….
R&L Airforce guns (Colorado) shoots Airforce guns competitively and have posted their own results in their listings.
From thousands of shots they see better accuracy in the Talon. Both are adequate.
I don’t to mess with that baby. I shot my first sparrow at 88 yards with a Barracuda/Kodiak and it is really tweaked. I would rather have another setup. Any more word on the Talon P Pistol?
From the Air Force website…10. How far will the gun shoot accurately?
A: The Talon and Talon SS can shoot 50 to 70 yards. The Condor can shoot to 75 yards.
If anything , I think the Talon would be more accurate at 70 yards, due to having longer barrel, thus higher velocity…… I found nothing there that states one is more accurate than the other though…Where did you hear or read that??
you already have a condor, so if i were you i would just get a 12 inch barrel and a shroud. then your set

Talk to Tony at talon tunes he made a rifle similar to mine but it’s in .25. Anything Tony makes will be better than what airforce comes out with. I think the little rifle was ready to go no waiting
