Talon tunes gen 6 shroud video!

Here is a video of the gen 6 shroud. Very impresive shroud and the best shroud on the market. Impact is 20 db louder than the shot. This shroud is amazing!

Got a ton of shots through this thing and still holding strong! Yotes are thinned out so i have the condor tuned way down to 30 fpe. The rats dont even know where the shots are coming from. This thing is awesome.

Great work tony!

Its up in the hunting section!

That….I am looking forwards to…!!!!!

That’s the sweet one! Mine is still holding up flawlessly against the 3400 psi and heavy slugs. I zapped a yote on video last night with it attached and will post to youtube hopefully tonight so all can see how quiet it still is even at night when everything is calm and usually makes things louder.

Nice work Tony!

Here are some new pics of our 14″ Gen 6 SOS…..

No moderator will help when a pellet/slug goes supersonic, because the projectile’s speed through the air is creating the supersonic “Crack” after it leaves the barrel/shroud/moderator.

Therefore, the projectile’s supersonic shock wave cannot be “moderated” or silenced. The supersonic crack will remain audible until the projectile drops below the speed of sound…somewhere below 1200 fps, dependent upon altitude/air density. As the projectile’s velocity slows, the supersonic crack will disappear and become a “buzz”, “whine”, or “hum” as the slowing projectile passes you.

I know this shroud will help but cannot tell you how much it will help because my decible meter only reads up to 130db. At the 3400 psi i can get the 32 gr ej super sonic but dont know how loud it is to be able to compare. This thing with out the shroud is f ing loud when its cranked up. If you want to go supersonic id go with a slug.

Nice work and great info!

Is the TT 6-inch shroud same basic design as 15-inch Gen 6 featured in this review?
Anyone know of similar analysis of the shorter shroud(s)?

Also wondering – In general, how do these various “noise suppressors” perform at super-sonic velocities? I have seen a few anecdotal reports suggesting that they are effective but AFAIK, or can find, nothing more rigorous showing actual test setup and data. I realize higher speeds can negatively affect accuracy but there might be situations where that drawback is acceptable and it would be useful to know if a particular suppressor was still effective.

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks, Rick :hoot: Gclub

Thanks tony. Glad i could help out. Smoked a couple more pests this morning and it was dead silent.

Nice work Tony on the shroud!
Have you tried Carbon Fibre tubes for your shrouds?

I have found with the 1mm wall thickness and epoxying the aluminum caps in place. IT makes for a very strong shroud and gets rid of the metal “ringing” sound of the supersonic pellets make from the vibration of the tube. Also wondering why you are giving 1/8″ clearance to your bushing rather than an internal O-ring to barely touch the barrel to help further stabilize the shroud.

I noticed too in the video you have a very secure fit using the two O-rings. Well done!

Thanks, Rick

Great video DJ…..you nailed it.
Big thank you.
Tony

Thanks coors. Had a blast making it and learned some new stuff plus it gave me an excuse to go play with my bb guns as my wife says. Lol

You did a very good job with this video, onebaddj. Very informative! Thanks for making and sharing it.
