Talon Tunes Tank Adapter
For those that know better than me: can the Tank Adapter from Tony be able to hold up against 4200 psi? Just wondering. I’m really considering using one on a future .257 build. I have one I haven’t installed yet, but it’s going on the .25 Smooth Twist build. Thoughts? Anyone who has one and consistently fills above 3k psi? Please note: This is not in any way an attempt at talking shit about any of Tony’s products- it’s a safety concern about the tank adapter I would love to use in another build!

You should send Tony a P.M. He’s a great guy to work with and I’m sure he can answer your question most accurately! Sounds like a fun build! Once deer season is over and I blow the cobwebs off the Talon-Dor, I’m planning on a similar build!

I got my answer in a weird way- through another post, on a different topic… anyhoo, for anyone that’s interested: From Doug, the tank adapter doesn’t flow enough air to be truly effective on a .257 build, which is what I was going for. I’m not saying this is no-shit “THE WORD”, but Doug’s built a lot of rifles in .257 and bigger, so If he says it wouldn’t work well, I’ll believe him.
Other than that small detail (which doesn’t matter for my .25 build anyway), the tank adapter is a very nice bit of kit. The anodizing is top notch, the gauge and fill nipple seem like top quality (at the very least, much better than factory), and everything goes together w/o a hitch!! Only bad part? MAKE SURE TO ORDER THE PLUGS (for a spin-loc tank only) WHEN YOU GET THIS ADAPTER!!!! It doesn’t come with them. But that was my mistake, costing me shipping for two orders instead of one. I haven’t shot the rifle w/the adapter yet, as this is for my Smooth Twist .25 build; I haven’t had the barrel installed yet… That won’t be until after the new year. I’ll write again then!!
