Talon Wood
First attempt with grips.
Any suggestion for finish, I ordered some lin-speed gun finish, any other suggestions are appreciated.

Damn nice for first go around M8.
I am a natural born wood butcher, If I attempted that, I could never go in the forest again for the fear of the trees retaliating against me 😥

How about this. Take off the trigger guard and then inlet a piece of aluminum into the foregrip going back to the handgrip to serve as a trigger guard.
Then paint it with bedliner! Once you go black you will never go back! 😛

looks good saw, especially for the first try. try some good old wood wax on a scrap and see how you like it.

does the screw attaching the guard have another job ?
Also, can’t see using paint on my walnut stock (i’m a finish carpenter, so I have a thing with wood), although I am thinking of using a black stain but also be able to see the grain.
Also thinking of boring a hole in the for- grip front for a laser, run the switch through the wood for a tidy look.
My logun s-16 has a laser up there but no pressure switch.

I’ll echo Rabbits on the Linseed. Note it does take patience to get the best finish, multiple coats and has a long “drying time” but is worth the results. If the linseed by itself does not provide the color you want, I’ve used any of the Minwax brand OIL BASED stains as a base for color then followed with the linseed.
Polyurethane gives higher gloss and is easier than the linseed, also drying times are much less but the final product is much more suceptable to showing dings and scratches.
not a bad first attempt mate .try some nice dannish oil or boiled linseed oil that will bring out the grain .
I would put them on my gun for sure…nice
