Q:

Talonp contemplating

This gun has been on my buy list but I keep talking my self out of it because its not a repeater. I need a pistol in my collection. When hunting how long does it take to reload.

“Effective” is an interesting word. It can mean maximum accurate distance, or maximum killing range.

Yesterday, I was hitting a seawall block on the lakeshore 263 yards from my back deck. That was aiming with a red dot scope and guess-ti-mating trajectory drop of a .30gr pellet. Yes, I did hit where I was aiming. But…no wind, large target, 72 year old eyes…so no bragging rights there.

Also, I was shooting the pellet at 650 fps, or “O” on the AF power wheel, and at 2800 psi. This particular gun likes around 1800 psi to achieve it’s peak bell curve. I was shooting at 2800 psi so I could plot a shot count, fps, and bell curve, down to 1000 psi, but a nosy neighbor walked over and I had to put my “pellet gun” away.

Perhaps better luck today.

HOOT , I only have one question regarding your TalonP . How far is your effective shooting range ? My .25 V so far reaches
out to 193 yds. which is good enough for me . Keep on shooting .

Depends on how thick your fingers are and how clumsy you are.

I do it in about five seconds, or less… But then, I don’t tend to miss a lot, so it really makes no difference to me. If you have an accurate pcp, with some decent glass on it, there’s little reason to miss at air gun ranges.
