Q:

TalonSS 14" .25cal.

I would like your thought on this.I have a Talon SS.22cal,i would like to replace the 12″ stock BBl. with a 14 ” .25 cal. BBl,the valve in tank is hi-flo. Do you think this combo would work and be quiet and should i use reg. valve . What would appro. FPS be . Thanks, hope someone has one already to help me out with these ?

Yeah .25 is shotgun loud with out a shroud!!! With shroud it’s umm…. gnat queef quiet!

LOUD= Ker-BOOM!!! 😯

YeloZ Shroud= ssspattt! 😈—-Down range= Ker-WHOPPP! 😀

Have you been shooting your 14;er any. I need to order a new endcap for mine, then i will be ready to shoot.

Ooops, my bad! You are right Pab, they are 31gr in .25cal and that is what I feed her with.

Get yourself a GTBJ shroud for your TalonSS and it will be “mouse fart quiet” I promise you that you’ll be AMAZED at how quiet the gun will be.

Do not know about a 14″ barrel, but my 20″ .25 barrel is super loud without my shroud.

No doubt it is loud as hell! If you have neighbors you cannot shoot this gun unless your neighbors love to hear gun shots. You need a shroud.
I use one and it makes it quiet. I also vented the frame to make it even quieter.
IMADMAN, I feed her with 21gr Kodiaks. Your set up with 10″ barrel is pretty impressive! Always amaized by what these guns can do.
I have .25cal Eun Jin pellets and they are 42gr- I shot them but not through the chrony, they made very loud smack. I could feel the power and love it!

I have 14″ .25cal Talondor. I like it so much that I stopped using my .22cal Condor and finally sold it.
My compact 14″ .25cal is my favorite now.
It has 100 gramms hammer and I had to play a lot with top hat adjustment and PW setting to find the sweet spot.
I get about 16 shots with average velocity of about 890fps. But I fill my gun up to 3200psi and start from there and PW on 2.
I can crank up the PW and get the speed up to 950fps but than the shot count goes down. Still I think from 14″ barrel with Kodiaks it isn’t bad at all. And on top of that it is nice back pack gun as you have mentioned. I have talon frame on mine which makes it even shorter.

What weight pellet are you pushing?

Here’s my set-up-

How is the noise report ,could it be low enough for backyard shooting, not that i can shoot in my yard,or should i go with 12″ bbl. Thanks

The hi-flo is installed and a heavier hammer also,i may try 14″ .25 if its to loud i will cut in 1″ increments down to 12″. All i need now is a stock end cap.
This will be my new compact treerat ,backpack gun.
And no shots over 40 yds. Thanks for your help.

if you go with a high flow valve you will need a hammer spacer or just a heavier hammer than the stock one to knock the valve open…I dont think it will be as quiet since you will me using more air and have less frame volume to help absorbe the noise and as far as fps goes i have no idea….hope this helps
ps. and you will need to open up the hole in the ss end cap so the now larger pellet will clear
