TalonSS CO2 to Low Pressure Air with CO@ adaptor and Scuba T
OK folks, I recently purchased a TalonSS 12” in .177 with CO2. I have 4 tanks that have the 3k burst disk. On a good hot day around here, say 80 to 90 degrees I shoot a 8.34 JSB .177 pellet around 730 to 750 FPS. Trouble is as nighttime approaches the temps drop to 60 or 70 degrees and the velocity drops significantly. Yea I know, it’s the nature of the beast. What I am looking for is a consistent 10 to12 FPE. That means 8.34 grains near 750 FPS. I have read a few hundred posts and being new only understood 10%. My question is this.
If I buy an 80 c. ft. scuba tank and fill it to 3000 psi can I then empty my co2 tanks, fill them to say 1800 psi, use the co2 adaptor that came with it and get 40 to 50 shots in the range I described. Yea I have read Hoots threads and others. What I need is pointed in the right direction and a list of what I actually need. Anyone willing to help me get to where I want to be, which is HPA / LPA in the 750+ FPS range with an 8.34 pellet and as many shots as possible. Is it possible or have I misread a lot of posts!!

Yes money i have read about the valve job, the only thing I have done to date is a subsonic shroud. As I said just getting started. For a rookie reading these threads, sometimes the ole pros don’t get specific enough assuming we know what they are talking about. Everyone had to start somewhere and most actually started where I am now! If you guys that respond can throw a link in referencing what your talking about it would be great.
also remember that the air will be more picky than co2 about clearances, so a good ol fashioned valve job is in order.
1bar can you post or message me some particulars. I have thought about the tank sock / hand warmers and that seems just a patch. Are you saying a paintball tank is different from my 12 oz co2 tanks. I have 4 tanks and 2 Airforce co2 adaptors. How many shots do you get before refilling, pressure etc. I would really appreciate the particulars. Dunk
Incidently, when I go to AirForce web site they have many air force adaptors, connectors and hoses. I’m looking for which ones specifically to buy.
I have done this with 22 & good results. More consistant velocity. It also works with 48ci HPA paint ball tanks. You need a tank , a airforce refill adapter & you are set. At 30yds Pigons, starlings & sparrows fall easily. My longest shot was a starling at 60yd.

If you’ve got a pair of CO2 tanks that work good when warn, why not try to keep them warm ❓
Be good to them and try a pair of battery heated sport socks.
A little additional wrap for insulation should hide the red heel and toe…
Maybe a little thermometer to show its current temperature.

could you tell me about this “ballistic insert”
the rest involves removing the valve(if possible for you, its usually tough)
and a basic polish, lubing of all internals, and squaring up the valve return spring.
