TalonSSS MOA 257420 150 yards.
I just shot these with the 257420 Lyman bullet, pure lead, visual sorted, sized to .255 with Imperial sizing wax. Bushnell Tactical 5×15 3200, two ounces of Stolichnaya Blue Label group tightner. 😛 3400 PSI fill with each shot.

A lot like the squirrels Ive hit with 43 grain EJs traveling 1025 fps. More or less a pencil size hole thru them. Very much a jellied mass inside though.
I could do that with the Brad Selph valve and a very heavy spring. Wasn’t very efficient and my thumb hated it.
Well actually it is not welded, welding could have warped the frame with the heat.
Doug, Dyotat, put it together by using a pressure fit bushing that was pressed into both pieces by a hydrolic press. Threaded holes were then drilled thru the two pieces into the bushing and screws put it and buried.
A third barrel bushing is at the end of the 17 inch unchoked barrel, it is press fit into the frame and is an alingnment bushing to insure that the two pieces came together true.
The joint was then grooved by Doug so that it could be filled in and made to look like one piece. AF frames being what they are, inconsistant with dimesions, made it so the two pieces did not mate up.
I filled in the joint with Brownells AccraGlass and then dressed it down to mate the two pieces myself.
I have meant to coat it with Brownells Alumahyde, but for now just put a light coat of flat black spray paint on to test the finnish work and to see if the seam would disappear, which for the most part it has.
Once I coat it with Alumahyde it will make the joint disappear.

I did in fact shoot a California Ground squirrel with it yesterday. But bear in mind Chairgun says this bullet will peretrate 15 inches or so at the 15 yards I shot the happless creature.
The squirrel was in a budda pose and was shot in the front chest and the bullet exited between the shoulder blades. It appears to have destroyed the heart, lungs and spine, it died rather quickley :P, you suppose??
However the holes were only 25 caliber going in and out, just not enough meat there to deform the bullet.

Wouldnt really have noticed it if I hadn’t heard it was there, but that small depression in the rail drew my attention. 😉
So have you actually killed anything with those bullets yet? Even a pic of a sawed in half lizard would do. 😛
Good eyes. I totally missed that and would never have seen it if not for your keen eye. That’s a pretty tight seam. RC your welder who welded it should be proud.
If Im not mistaken, thats also a closeup pic of the seam just ahead of that slug on your frame.

The front left mounting screw on your ring holding either the flashlight or laser (not sure can’t see the whole thing) is loose, and about to fall out on the pic.

That group tightening compound sounds good.
On hot days Paulaner, Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat, or Franziskaner group tightening compound also works wonders.
