Q:

Tank Dump AAA Condor ? TTTA losing pressure ?

I zeroed in the scope yesterday to a close 20 and far 40m at 9 power 259m/s using the new tophat from talontunes , i was using JSB kings .

2 problems i witnessed ,

1 when filling to 3000 psi the tank pressure drops to 2900psi and stops , is that normal ?
2. the first shot today resulted in tank dump from 2900 to 1200 which is not normal . Does something like this happen often ? how to avoid it ?

i will have to try shooting again ny the weekiend to check if everything is ok.

I am impressed by all the testing that is being performed ! keep us updated

Cheers

A bad pellet isn’t likely with JSBs Kings. Inserted not far enough that the air partially escapes past the skirt might be a slight possibility, inserted backwards is not hard to do with some other pellets but next to impossible with JSBs, Breech not fully engaged on top hat ❓ only a guess there 😳

With just beginning to break in my new AAA Condor with its original TT ported valve, and shooting the same .25 JSB Kings weighing about 25.4 gr., I was seeing 50-75 FPS Increase from 3000 down to 2500 PSI (982 – 1108 FPS). Just breaking in or is there something the TT AAA .25 Condor loves about these pellets ❓

I’m testing with 7 different pellets: Black Mambas, Eun Jins, H&N Baracudas, Kodiaks, Poly Mags, JSB KINGS, & H&N Field Target Trophy. I roll sort then average out the weights. Then I use up the hopefully few odd balls first leaving me with the best for the range.

initially, I only can judge by look and feel but the average weights here are: 70.99, 42.61, 30.5, 29.9, 25.77, 25.40, 19.94 respectively.

The Kodiaks win by looks as they are the shinnest and clean but they are lower in weight and less consistent in the roll sort than H&N Baracudas. According to Chairgun Pro wit identical PSI of about 2000, the Baracuda and JSB Kings have nearly identical trajectory giving the same accuracy but 5 ft.lb. more muzzle energy for Baracudas with even greater difference down range. To my shock 😯 the H&N FT Trophy pellets are DIRTY ❗ They need washed before roll sorting.. By the end of summer I will have better figures as I intend to calculate MY BC for these two pellets.

Oh, which way does the valve restrictor screw in ❓ Does it matter 😕

refilled it from 2900 psi to 3100 , after bleeding it and unplugging it from the tank ,pressure dropped to 3000 psi , it seems to hold on the pressure , i will watch it for tomorrow 🙁

Tony sent me the new tophat with 2 variable diameters , the wider diameter gave me 850 fps at power 9 , i shot with it 100 pellets yesterday 2900 psi t 2000 psi , at 40 meters , i shot 20 shots in the same hole , i was amazed by how accurate it was , today morning , i filled it up again and went hunting , shot one shot that felt quite loud, thought it was an echo, and never realised it was a tank dump till i shot the gun 1 hr later to find out i was 5cm below targe :S i am shooting with 1300 psi pressure , got confused :S thought maybe it was a bad pellet ? Or do you think the pellets are too light ?
Any suggestion what pellets suit best for long range shooting without killing the accuracy ?

Was the 259m/s (850 fps) from 3000 PSI and if so, which valve restrictor did you use 😕

Air Pressure (PSI) is temperature sensitive.
Even an hand pump heats up at high pressure.
A compressor heats the air even more due to speed.
Fill your tank and wait an hour or so then top it off.
When you take your tank from a 70 F house to the 50 F outdoors it will drop a bit..
If you take it out on a warm day it will probably increase PSI as it heats up again.

I would get in touch with Tony. He might have some ideas.

When you first installed the new valve stem, did you dry fire it a couple of times to seat the New Stem into the valve it’s self?

Also, it takes a bit for the seal to take a set. Might be why it leaked down a little on it”s first fill.
