I just got off of the phone with Van and he told me to do pretty much the same thing. He also told me to let him know that if the problem was not remedied after a few attempts with the cleaning of the valve and a minor adjustment to the top hat to just let him know and he would send me a new setup. I will get to it right away and see if I can remedy the problem.
No problem with Van at all.. Great talking with him on the phone and I was assured nothing more that fast and speedy service in getting the problem resolved 8)

By working the stem back and fourth it may help move any grit or grim or smooth a burr that could be hanging up the valve.
The stem is steel and the valve brass. Hopefully moving the stem up and down it entire stroke a few dozens times may smooth things up.
There could be a few things causing it to dump. This is only one remedy you can try yourself without voiding the warranty.

You should have seen your eyes when that tank of mine dumped with the gun in your hands..I know my 12 yr old Son Clint, was happy to see the same thing happen to you that happened to him.. It is good to know that I am not the only one amoung a very few that has had to drill a little dimple hole in the shroud to make sure it stays on. I wonder if my drilling a little hole in the shroud will affect the warranty. I am waiting to hear back from Van now.
I am going to go ahead and check the valve. Is there anything that I should acutally be looking for or do you think by clearing the air will blow what ever is causing this out of the tank.

Emptying your tank and moving the top hat up and down and turning it will not void your warranty.
I am sure a simple dimple drilled into the shroud will keep it on just fine. That is what I had to do to mine and so has everybody else.

Why dont you completely empty your tank. And then manually move the tophat and stem up and down through its entire stroke. Then you can also turn and twist it also.
If there is a burr or a particle holding it open this can remove it.
They way you completely remove the air from your AF tank is to place a couple of dimes in your air source adapter and slowly screw in your tank and you will hear the air escaping. Let it all drain out.
Give it a try before you send it in.
The reasons for dumping can be a pellet not being seated completely in the breech or using a loose pellet in the barrel. If this is not the case then it is probably debris or a burr holding it open.
I appreciate the input on this my friend. Since I have not attempted any sort of tear down or dismantled any parts of the Condor as of yet, I am holding off in attempting to effect any sort of repair until I talk to Van. If this gun was dumping air on every shot I would just just send it in. Although over the last 9 or ten shots, it seemed to dump the air after 2 or 3 shots.
If there was something I could do to the the gun myself and I was sure that it would not affect the warranty in any way I would go ahead and take some action. Not knowing where I stand as far the as the warranty issue goes I am somewhat hesitant to do anything to the gun.
Something that I mentioned in the other post about the shroud being blown off is another concern of mine that needs to be addressed also. The problem is, I am going to fear that the shroud is going to be blowing off the gun every time I pull the trigger. That is sort of a mental thing if you know what I mean. I need that issue to be addressed also.
So I have two issues with the gun going on here.

She may not do hole- in- hole at 80 yards but she sure will tear the hell out of a woodchuck skull at that range and laugh about it all the way home. Hope your shoot went well.
You had me worried. Thought it was the tanks I worked on dumping.
You can either get used to sending it back every time there’s an issue, or you can bite the bullet and start getting acquainted with it’s guts by stripping it. The latter is far more satisfying, and once it’s out of warranty you’ll need to do that anyway.
Though if there is something majorly busted you won’t get a free replacement if you’ve stripped and identified the problem yourself (unless AF have a degree of honour).
I don’t even have 20 shots through this gun yet and here I go putting out the bucks to be sending it back to the seller to take care of a valve problem and another issue pertaining to the shroud in which I would see as a design flaw..ssheeessh
Before pulling the valve, I’d refill the tank to 1500 psi or so. Then take a wood or plastic mallet and give the end of the top hat a couple of raps, make it pop like you’d just shot it. Hopefully, if it’s just something caught in the valve seat, that will clear it. If not, pulling the valve isn’t too tough. Check the quick reference section, I think Adam has a pretty good routine for removing the valve. Of course, as your rifle is brand new and under warranty, you can always send it back to AF. Come to think of it, if you don’t want to void that warranty, you HAVE to send it back to Air Force. Good luck.

It’s my gun dumping the air. I am pretty sure it’s not the pellet. It happened to 2 different shooters. I was using the .20 Eun Jin pellets. One of the shooters has his own Condor and is an experienced shooter.
You mention that I may have to take the valve out and clean it. I have no idea how to do this. Is there a link that you can direct me to so I can read up on how to do it or could someone please take the time to explain it to me?
