Q:

Tank fill prices…

What are you guys paying to have your dive tank filled? Mine is only down to 2400 PSI and the sucba shops around here charge anywhere from $8-$10 for a fill….man, I don’t want to pay that kind of price for only 600 psi of air 😕
The guy that charges $10 a fill said that the first 2000 psi is ‘free’, it’s the last 1000 psi that is wear and tear on the compressor etc….

I’m thinking that I will need to (eventually…someday) get a 4500 psi bottle, and make a friend @ the firehouse 😉

Yeah, cascade setup would be nice, so would a CF tank, or even a compressor…just gotta start making some $$ 😉

5 to 10 bucks. Sounds like a Cascade setup would work for you.

Joe Brancato has the 66cu ft CF SCBA on sale for $325.00–INCLUDES a 3 ft SS hose and gauge set-up. Brand NEW hydro too. THAT’S the best deal so far ANYWHERE for a complete set-up..And shipping from him in California to me, in Georgia, he only charged me $25.00, which you have to admit is WAAAAY resonable!! If ya been thinking about going t o the SCBA, NOW would be the time…not quite as many refills as an 88cu ft, but look at the difference in price 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

hear here!! firemen rule!!!
glad i dont godda drive but about 2 miles, but i can only get 3200. i never thought about the firemen…i dont know any locally, but im more than certain they would be cool with it…damned now i wish i would have known that….i really wanted a cf tank dammit!!!!

I can fill mine for free at the local VFD. After a little instruction on running the compresser theygave me a key to the door so I can fill any time. Like many farmers & ranchers in the area, I have contributed $ to the VFD for many years. Can”t say enough about these guys! They get called out at all hours, not just for fires but medical emergencys and many other things.

6 bucks here+gas for a 70 mile round trip.

Airgunner I live in Shelton but I work in Tacoma so I drive around the Puget Sound twice a day I fill my tank at Underwater sport in Lakewood . They go to 4000 and use a booster up to 6500psi . They have all the diff fittings and can fill about any bottle .

Where I go it’s $6.00 period….big tank, little tank. 10 psi or 4500 psi, $6.00. Downside is that it’s 30 miles from my house, so a round trip costs me $9.00 in gas..I try to get it done when I have to go to town on other business as well 😀

Yea we here ya Crow the long lost relative that is head of the fire house holy shit crap bat man this is good I am still in the process of getting mine filled at the fire dept just got my 4600 tank I allready have a 80 cu ft scuba tank 3000 psi get it filled at a local paint ball store for 5 bucks but not sure if they are staying where they are at so started looking and found a fire dept that a friend of mine knows several of the guys so they had no problem just need to get my fittings and get down there to bad compressors are out of my league we all would have one!!

free , free, free 😈 😈 😈

Well where the heck are you in western Wasington? I used to live in Spokane, I’ve been to Moses Lake, Seattle, tri cities (richland, Kenewick and Pasco) and on down to Portland and Eugene OR!

I must be the lucky one had my 3000 80cu scuba tank 4 years payed 12 bucks for a vis last month[ they just noticed]and never a cent far air refill every 2 weeks no charge ever

quote joecontrell:

i shopped around here (nor-cal) before i bought stuff…id have to drive 35 miles to the nearest 4500lb capable shop, so i settled on a 100 cf tank and 13 cf buddy bottle. the shop in my town will go up to 3200 and he only charges me if i have used lots of air…and then its only 5 bucks…not bad…dudes cool…i wouldve gone carbon fiber 4500 otherwise.
i refill at about 2600 and only use my buddy bottle on trips, and as a spare.

Yeah, my dive shop charges 5.00. I too refill at about 2600, oh, wait a minute, not anymore… that is of course, if I tune my MROD to shoot where I want it to shoot on a 2600 psi sp. So the plan is, shoot my heavy hitting condors till my tanks hit 2600. Put them up, and break out the MROD and .22xx’s…and this way when I make a return to the Dive shop I’ll feel like I’m finally getting my 5 bucks worth 😎

My place charges me 10 bucks for whatever I need, be it 1000psi or 4350 psi for my scba bottle. Pop over and I’ll hook you up with him… 😀 😆

my place only fills up to 3600 psi @ $5… the fire station I checked said they would fill it up only if the city wouldnt had taken it away with all the economic problems 👿
