Q:

Tank filling question…

I have a paintball tank that is 88ci / 4500 psi and carbon fiber. Is there anything out there that can be used to adapt this to fill airforce tanks? Because I was reading the Airhog website and “The Pigmee” was 9.5 cubic FEET of air! Versus a paintball tank that is 88 cubic INCHES… Is that even right? WOW!!!

If anyone can enlighten me, that would be great!

Thanks…

That tank will have a regulator on it so cannot ‘fill’ more than the set pressure typically 850psi.
Would make a nice setup coupled to a CO2 adapter for a pile of consistent regulated shots 🙂

Thanks for the info guys! Darn… I thought I paintball tank would at least be useful since I don’t use it anymore…

Be careful with that there math, guys. The 88 ci tank is that big on the inside, the 9.5 cf tank holds 9.5 cf of ‘room pressure’ air really compressed into that little tank (about seventy gallons of air), it’s not really big enough to hold seventy gallons inside if you think about it (that’s bigger than two garbage cans).

Likewise the 88 cf tank Airhog sells isn’t one sqare foot in diameter (about 14 inches) and 88 feet long now is it? It’s about 300 times smaller (300 Bar).

So the 88 ci tank holds 88*300 cu inches at ‘room pressure’, about 15 cf. More than the pigmee tank does it seems. Which makes some sense, it’s bigger and the pressures are the same?

big difference in air volume……….yes you could find an adapter to fill your talon tank from the pb tank but it would not be worth it.

the 9.5cf pygme tank is 16,416 ci vs. 88 ci. Or 186 times more air volume at given pressure. the pb tank would give few if any full fills of the talon tank.
