Q:

Tank Valves

Hi, what is the best tank valve out there for that elusive combination of power and low volume in 25 cal? My airforce condor valve is my current reference point or benchmark. Its a pretty good valve that gives me well in excess of 1000fps in 25 cal if I want it. But it’s not particularly quiet. How does the PCP Tunes High Flow tank valve compare? What about the R&L valve? If I run these valves with half a tank of air how well will they work?

We do a lot of comparison test on pellets, barrels etc on here, but little on tank valves?

Your best bet would be to reg it unless you have time and pellets to sit and tune. You can get close to reg performance if you try. Polish valve stem, adjust return spring play with different fill pressure adjust hammer spring oring under top hat and the list goes on.

Thank you, can you explain more on polishing valve stem and adjusting return spring. Does polishing the valve stem reduce volume? In adjusting the return spring in valve would I be backing it off or tightening it up. Thanks RJ. I’ve got a few good valves but I’m always looking for better, that’s the fun with airforce guns.
