Come on guys it’s a Russian gun. The threads are metric. The barell end is a 10 mm. I think that the pitch is 1.75 mm. I have the tap at work and will check tonight.
Thanks
i hope it is 1/2 unf
Njnoodles….would you happen to know the thread size on the muzzle?
Thanks
😆 It’s a guess.
It may get louder with more holes… 😆
What the fuck do I know, I am probably totally wrong with both ideas. 😉 😆
So maybe if you drill 6 or so more holes it will be silent?
10% increase in sound level with the holes taped up? 😯 WOW, More Ideas!

10% increase, those holes are really small… 😯
So tape up those holes and give us a report as to whether it makes any kind of difference or not. Inquiring minds want it know! 😀

Any baffles in the 5 inch space?
Been talking to Tony about new vs old shroud styles. He says right now it’s a toss up. Still some old styles being shipped while the new ones are being worked in. One “might” be lucky to get an old style as add-on extentions are available.
Ed says all the ones being shipped out will now have the new shroud. He says the new shroud is as quiet as the older shroud model with the additional add on shroud.
The old style has 5 tapered cone cup style baffles in it. It seems very quiet, when shooting in the woods or in the open. When shooting around grain silos, I get an echo when I shoot.
The manager of a local grain ellevator asked me to come over and control his “flying rat population” (his words). I told him that I would be happy to. Lots of 50-65 yard shots a few up to 85 yards.
Iv’e been there 4 times. When I first went, the noise of a shot didn’t bother the birds. The survivors have wised up. Now, when they hear a shot or the WHAP when one of their buddies gets it, they haul ass!
It’s kind of funny, when I shoot, they all take off for 15-20 minutes and then come back. When they come back, they keep circleing their landing area. I can tell they want to land but, they are kinda spooked. Finally one will land and the rest will follow shortly. I get another one and the cycle starts over again.
Got 3 pigeons and 2 starlings today. Took 6 shots total, damn gusty wind is hard for me to compensate for. Iv’e shot 16 pigeons there total, so far.

The barell is threaded 10mm by 1.25mm pitch. I found the tap that I used tonight.
I got bored at work one night and made a screw on LDC to replace the stock Edgun moderator. I needed a tap for the end cap and borrowed a tool and die guy’s thread gauge to to check the pitch on my barell’s threads. It turns out that I had the right tap in my Craftsman metric tap set.
The old style Edgun moderator’s end cap is threaded for a screw on extra moderator. The threads in it are 12mm by 1mm pitch. I am making a screw on moderator for my gun and needed a die that size. Nobody stocks it. I searched on Google and found them for anywhere from $35-$70!!!!! Found a guy on Ebay that had them for $11.95. Got one in 12mm by 1mm and one in 12mm by 1.25, just to be sure.
The outer threads on that endcap, where it screws into the moderator, are really fine, I would guess something like 24mm by .5mm pitch.
