no problem, I really like mine now that it’s working all the time, I was having some stem issues that took a bit to figure out.

Hey there Walko mine is a .177 and with heavies pops large lizards with one shot head shots….if its green squirrel worthy ain’t worth knockin! Mine gets like 45 full tilt shots then I top it off.

If wok thinks you’re a blasphemer then I am a really blaspheming blasphemer! I have a Talon SS .177 in CO2 and I love it. If I ever get the urge (which is not likely) I can always convert it to air and .22. My Talon SS is incredibly accurate and an absolute pleasure to shoot. It shoots best with the boxed Crosman Premiers (don’t lecture me on lead deposits…don’t care). I get hundreds of shots off a 12 oz. CO2 bottle that costs $3 to fill at the local sporting goods store, plus .177 pellets are cheaper than .22 and I don’t hunt so why .22 anyway?

30-40 shots. You can get more or less depending on whether you are going for max power or best efficiency.

I think the ss would be a wise decision, light, you already have an AF gun, plus if she doesn’t take to plinking ya have another platform to tinker with.
On PW 3 or 4 I am looking at 200 shots, and the pellets are smashed when shot in to my metal trap 😮 😮 😮
They are compact and can be pretty respectable in the energy department.

I shoot my .22 Talon SS at 20 fpe typically, and agree with that count. I’ve sot it at 12 fpe a far bit, but got bored way before the tank ran low….500 shots could be real as well.
I like QBs a lot, and think the Discovery and Hammeril 850 have their strong points as well. If, however, she can handle the stock gun size wise there may be real advantage to ‘a gun just like dad’s’, and for sure she can ‘grow into it’ from there.

if you want to tone it down then get a QB or something along those lines that is made for it, plus your daughter will be learning on a more conventional air rifle, and it will last hers and your grandchildren’s life.
there is a reason that only about 1 out of 500 or even possibly more have a .177 set up with an AirForce, it’s just a wast of the platform, not to mention a bit pricy for a low powered plinker.
I was just thinking, if you asked her to haul ass….she would have to make 3 loads… 😆
