Testing with RatSniperSlugs 45 grain SHP Swaged slug/Pellet

I have purchased some of the Ratsniperslugs and i wanted to pass along. I also tested these against the 7 ring slugs from Jerry. Which i have finally managed to get to shoot good, it appears they like some “dwell time” with the valve open… so i needed to just… crank the puppies up a bit and oh hey, they shoot pretty good!

My rifle is as follows
.24″ .25 caliber airforce barrel, worked by Tony (hand lapped, leade cut, etc)
RL shroud (sorry, tony was out of stock)
Quick change top hat, no inserts
slap mod hammer
o ring
Power wheel set on 7-0

I tested 949 FPS avg over 5 shots over prochrono using 150 watt incandescent light, roughly 60 degrees in my basement. 3050 psi fill.

extreme spread was 21 fps

High was 958
Low was 947

here are two 3 shot groups i did at 25 yards. i refilled to 3050 PSI after each shot.

first group. very good! smaller than caliber Center to Center groups.

Second group. the first two shots were the left ones. i pulled the shot on the right and even called it as i pulled the trigger. i closed my eyes and said to my wife… i think i pulled it right just a hair. when we walked up, we saw i had indeed.

THIS group… was with a 71.8 grain, Jerry’s slug, it was cruising at 780 FPS over 3 shots, still VERY good for this power. (97 FPE) these are quite a bit cheaper than Mikes Ratsniperslugs, but these seem to open up for me past 40 yards… not sure why? I WOULD like to know why the jerry’s slugs made the holes int eh shoot-n-c target more “ragged” instead of clean… but no matter. Jerry’s slugs are available via PM to him on this forum (Jerry)

POI was about the same for all shots, i was purposely shooting about 1″ low at 25 yds. Keeps the groups tighter for me, i adjust it back to zero at 25 for hunting. definatly at 25 yards, i could use same POI for both slugs. I have affectionaly named my rifle… HAMMERTIME.
