Q:

Thanks Tony and Talon Tunes!

Long overdue post but I received my STD black Mutant stock a few weeks ago and it has been sitting pretty next to my desk in my office. I already have a brown stock in the compact version so wanted to go with black on this one. Now I am left with 2 Mutants and my Edgun R3M .25. Like many have mentioned, the mechanics of the hammer/valve is very quiet compared to other PCPs. Muzzle blast is there but I can always tame that.

One thing I would change in this setup is the Hawke scope to a SWFA. Haven’t used the Hawke in a loong time and forgot how heavy it is.

Thanks again Tony!

, my wife was like “did you shoot the window?” and I just nodded in shame.

That’s hilarious I also have clipped the trim around the base of the upstairs spare bedroom window. Dam squirrel kept getting closer and closer to the house so I kept aiming further and further downward and clipped the plastic trim around the window, my wife was like “did you shoot the window?” and I just nodded in shame.

I would really like to put a LDC on my 22 Mutant shorty, Noting wrong with being very quite,
I need to get in line for the 1/2×20 adapters,
Nothing wrong with shooting the kitchen window out, As long as you can replace it before the wife gets home…
I have done it twice,,, Stupid maybe, Bad shot maybe, In a hurry guilty as charged .

Mike your not alone! Lol…. I just about cut the bottom trim in half on my bedroom window all excited to shoot a raccoon one evening. It was so frigging loud I thought I woke up the neighborhood! It’s funny now but not back then. :4:

I just got Donny’s LDC and all I can say is “AWESOME”. I never imagined my Short would be soooooo quiet!!!

Thank you Donny! :biggrinn:

Sweet puppy’s Donny just don’t shoot out a window!

Or your shooting days in the house, will be over fast Mr.

Congrats Donny, nice work :8:

I have to be honest, I still reach for the baby most of the time. Such a fun little gun yet compact to carry. I have it set at 800 fps with JSB 18’s. The STD came shooting 935 which is a little too hot for my shooting arrangement. I’ll have to lower it down a bit probably to 890.

The other reason I am probably reaching for the baby more is how light it is. I am going to swap out the scopes and see how much of a difference it makes. If I am sitting down paper punching then the STD would be more suitable due to larger air capacity.

Donny those look Awesome! Which one do you prefer now that you have had the standard for a few weeks? I’ve been waiting patiently for a one of Ed’s new style guns, but there is defiantly a cool factor in these Mutants!

Pipo – the LDC is mine. 6 inches by 1.5

FatDude – I do most of my shooting from inside the house. If you were to shoot any of these two guns outside, definitely no need for an LDC. It is super quiet. But since I shoot inside, any blast will intensify a lot. I recently received the STD Mutant, I have to reach out to Hagan to get another 1/2 x 20 adapter. At the moment though I know he’s super busy because I asked him to make me a few things for my lathe. Once I get those parts, I’ll ask for the adapter. Some may say that you don’t even need an LDC inside the house but I am so used to shooting with an LDC that I always have one on. Even when I had the prod shooting 600 fps I still screwed one on.

is muzzle blast on the baby so loud you need such a big LDC whereas on standard no LDC needed?

Hi Donny,

what additional muffler did you put on that baby?
