The airgun crowd
I also would like to take this opportunity to mention that I am fairly new to airgunning and have only become dedicated the past three or four months. But one thing I quickly learned is there seems to be a bond of trust and interest in helping others among the group. Let me give you some examples, the other day I replied to an online ad for a cheap scope. I needed one to put on an air rifle I am fixing up for a poor kid who has pretty much nothing. I agreed to send the seller cash in an envelope and to add a couple of dollars for an extra scope, it wasn’t much, but everyone will understand how easy it would be for the guy to say he never got it. Well I put the letter in the mailbox yesterday and later when I went to check the mail, there was a priority mail package in the box with the scopes in it. The guy trusted me enough to go ahead and mail out the scopes without receiving payment. Now some might say “Well, there wasn’t much money involved.” but I have a better one yet.
I agreed to purchase some items from a seller on the yellow that came to a total of slightly over $1200 a week or so ago. To make a long story brief, the guy had looked at my feedback on the boi (there were only about 4 transactions) and sent the items to me the same day I sent him the money orders. We both received the others items on the same day. I mentioned this to someone at the gun store and they said the guy was stupid because not only did he put his trust in a total stranger but that some unforeseen problem might have occurred, like maybe I might have been in an accident and killed before I sent the money orders out. I told the guy that if you think about it, the same thing might have happened on the other end with the seller.
Now I want to tell what a good guy Randy at R&L Airguns is. I have a problem with an AF fill adapter that is addressed in another thread. A few members here answered my questions and provided dimensions of the same adapter to compare with mine. I contacted Randy at R&L where I purchased the fill adapter and he sent out a replacement that same day after testing it on his personal air tanks. But I still had the same problem so I sent the adapter back and emailed Randy asking the price for a replacement top hat. He replied to my email and said he would look around because he thought he had a spare top hat around that he had been using to test the .308 and he would just send it to me once he located it. Now I want o make it clear that I don’t know Randy other than purchasing a few items from his business, he is not related to me. But he is treating me so well that I would feel guilty purchasing anything for my airguns that R&L carries from any other place. Randy went out of his way to help me with my fill adapter problem and I am, and will remain, a fiercely loyal customer of R&L Airguns. I know this sounds like an advertisement but I just cannot over the great customer service I received.
Now I know there are some bad apples in every barrel but I see the airgunning crowd is quick to police these rotten eggs with quick communications to warn their fellow airgun enthusiasts and follow up with the person of interest. I read one post on another forum where one member posted he lived about 45 minutes from the scammer and he was willing to go see the troublemaker in person.
But what I am trying to get across in my long winded rambling is that I realize I am new to the sport and forum, no one knows me very well yet, but already I feel like a member of a close knit family. For some time I have been pessimistic about society in general, that to many their word was no longer their bond and a “Screw them before they screw you” attitude prevailed. So I want to to thank the members here of making me feel welcome and I am honored to be a part of the airgun crowd. I was telling my wife about the comradery amongst airgunners and she said “Think what a wonderful world it would be if everyone was like your airgun friends.” I have to agree.

A well written comment.
Some folks are trustable as you can tell by their commetns and online character. Others are scammers and will rip you off, then change their name for the next victim. Randy is top notch.
