The Benjamin Marauder .25
So i have a Benjamin Marauder .25 and i have to say, i love this gun, more than i thought i would.
Hunts greats, amazing shooter for the money.
Iv been doing a fair bit of reading online and it seems there is some work you can do to them, and im very interested in this.
I want to be able to get more shot count from my rifle. i shoot it from 3000PSI down to 2000 Only.
Am i able to get more with no mods?
Or am i able to get a mod that will help with this?
(getting mixed answers else where, however here, you guys seem to know what your doing…. maybe 😛 )

I have an mrod with a 24in lwbarrel tube ext and shroud ext. I’m shooting USB 25.4grn from 890-900 and back down to 890 for 16 shots. I did some valve work myself . If I put in the 10lb spring I can get over 1000fps. Accuracy is superb at 50yds like three eights inch groups. I got rid of my condor because I was tired of chasing accuracy and bought my mrod. I never looked back. When I do my part I can kill squirrels at 100+ yds. I also installed a depinger and hammer denounce device from aoa. Also try polishing the bore. Once u put a mirror finish on the inside of the barrel u can detune ur gun a bit for more shots, also try polishing the hammer and bolt end. Doing the bolt end will smooth out airflow. I totally forgot about that, yes there are tube extensions, and Talon Tunes does tunes for the M-Rods.

I think TT or someone sells a tube extension for the MROD?
You can very likely squeeze a few more shots per fill by simply adjusting and fine tuning the stock rifle, that is unless your after max power. Mine came out of the box shooting right at 45 FT.LBS. and I first turned it up a bit, then ended up going down to right in the 37-38 FT.LBS. range which gave me about 4-5 more usable shots. I have seen many post regarding the bstaley (spelling?) mod, which from what I have read, (I have not tried this on mine, so I am only noting what I read) can help with air usage. I personally think adjusting the striker (hammer) throw (length), then balancing the hammer spring pre-load you can find a nice sweet spot where you have an actual bell curve. I noticed that on mine out of the box, it had no curve, just started out at xyz FPS, then dropped a little each shot until the POI was falling. I haven’t had the safe queen out in a while, other than to check the gauge to ensure it’s holding, but the last time I did shoot it after a good bit of adjusting the hammer stroke, and hammer spring pre-load, it did start out a little lower, climb slightly, then started descending again as it should. Sorry I don’t remember what settings I used, but they all need their own tweaks to get what your looking for. I tried engaging some of the members on the M-Rod forum, and that didn’t go too well, so I just read everything I could find, and used the good old manual to do my own tune. Sorry if this is a bit long winded, and I am by no means an expert on the M-Rod, but from all the postings I have read, these 25’s seem to be air hogs that are tough to get a curve on, where the smaller caliber ones at least appear to be simpler. That may well just be my perception, but from the specs the 25’s have a better flowing valve, thus more air usage. I forgot about the transfer port, that can be adjusted to a smaller diameter to restrict flow, which could very well help produce a smoother curve, again if you not going for max power. I reserve the max power for my Talon with the Condor valved tank, and heavy hammer. That sucker will stomp the snot out of my M-Rod in the power department, and I can get 30 + shots out of it. When I have the M-Rod turned up, I was lucky to get 16 shots before refill time.
