Q:

The Edgun Matador gets a makeover!

I remember how anxious and excited I was to finally receive my Edgun and I loved everything about it except the grey sparkly paint that comes from the factory. I immediately spay painted over the factory paint with a very good flat black paint. Well it looks great for a while and then you start to notice the little marks on the paint here and there, or the areas that have a lot of contact from handling get a bit shiny. I had been thinking about doing this ever since WalkonKing mentioned it so here it is and I’d have to say that it looks and feels great! Here it is… The Edgun stock with truck bed liner. Thanks for the idea Walk! πŸ˜€

Check out this video. The video quality from photobucket is really bad.

It’s so great to be able to set it down anywhere and know the stock will not be marked up. I always take care of my things but this stock can take some serious abuse if it had to. I love the look and it just feels right. It’s the missing piece that made made my Edgun truly shine! Once again I find myself staring at her for no other reason than to admire her beauty and she finally is wearing a deserving outfit for one sexy badass bitch.

I had this sprayed on my truck bed a few years back. This stuff is virtually indestructable! I hauled concrete chunks, rocks, lumber, steel, and a number of heavy, sharp materials and the bed looked fine after a hose rinse.

I tried to cut it with a knife once, but could only make a very shallow slice mark on the surface. This would be ideal for a field gun that gets shot hard and put away wet.

Hoot 😯

Yup, looks very good 😎 Didn’t think it would. It does. And then some… 😯 😎 πŸ˜†
Is it very rough to the touch of kinda soft and rubbery?

It’s slightly rough but still comfortable. It feels solid and does not feel soft but it does feel rubbery if you dig your finger nail into it. It’s hard to describe. It only feels slightly rough if you were to rub your hand back and forth over the stock and it only feels rubbery if you dig something into it. I find it to be solid, comfortable, and grippy. The only downside is, it will add weight to the Edgun but it didn’t bother me. You can always choose to go lighter on the texture but I didn’t because the smooth layer is pretty shiny. If someone wanted to, they could get the coating without any texture. I prefer a flatter black opposed to a shiny black.

Great Quick job there…….
Some nice looking pics of the Edgun family…….
For now its just Veles….after 3-5 years I can think of the matador by then they’ll have the multishot version of the Matador.

Gosh this hobby is gonna make bite the dust.. 😈

Very nice looking… purposeful and durable too.

I was planning on doing the same to my EDgun when it gets here in the next week and a half or so… but now it looks like mine will be coming with a walnut stock. So much for that idea!

I suppose I can bedline it after I put a few marks in the walnut. πŸ˜†

That would also be a great fix for a cracked stock.
You could drill a hole, secure it with a screw, fill it all in and sand it and them have it coated and it would look great.

I had it done at a place where they spray the back of trucks with this stuff. It’s bed liner and it’s very durable and a great coating for the Edgun stock. It only cost me $35.

Thanks for the info V, I am thinking to do the same for my gun, but need to find a place who can provide this service around my area.

So you put a new paint on the gun or you paid someone to do it? the new paint look awesome.

Bobby,

That is just awesome looking and one of the best finishes I’ve seen on any Edgun.

Great job.

Carl
