The Finger Pointer Idea
I have been fermenting this concept in my mind for sometime now.
Have you noticed that when you extend your arm and point your finger at a certain direction, say for example, you are directing someone to a street sign, a building, a beautiful girl included… a particular part of the landscape or simply just pointing at anything, your Finger pointing is very accurate? This applies whether you are right handed or a leftie, whether right eye or left eye dominant as well.
I am trying to design a Stock that functions along this principle. Aiming, and shooting a rifle of this type will be just like pointing a finger .. as naturally accurate as possible… and quick and fast too.
Tape a laser pointer at your finger and try it. Point and aim, and it is accurate. Accuracy in this form is natural and built into the human anatomy.

only way that is going to happen is that the weapon has to be pointing in the center of your target when the trigger is pulled . I know because I have 43
combat kills . If you think that you can apply this type of shooting , shooting a PCP Airgun of normal caliber at a target , you really need to get your head
out of your ass . At any distance the odds of hitting a target using this style is unreal , you would have to put in about 1,000 hrs. of practice just to get close .

Airgun Metal Silhouette sets 10 targets each with 5 minutes time limit. Pretty plenty. Chickens are actually about the size of a quarter set at 20 yards. The Rams are a little big bigger but set at 45 yards. There are four sets, chicken, boar, turkey and ram.
All are shot in the offhand position. One shot per target, shot from left to right. If you hit target no.2 on the first shot, that is a minus 1 point on your score. A total miss is better than hitting the wrong target.
It looks easy, but it is not.
I am more accurate with pointing my finger at the targets than actually shooting them in the standing position…hence, my Finger Pointer stock idea.
Is that speed shooting of silhouettes you are referring? We have 5 minute limit for 5 silhuettes which is usually plenty, although some could probably use more for those 100m rams.
One of the events that I participate using an airgun is Metallic Silhouette competitions. This is what I have in mind when I think of the Finger Pointer Stock idea… as far as rats are concerned, it is easier to put traps all around… or simply, anti rat electronics devices.
Okay , if you wish to enjoy your generic style of shooting rats with Drozd at what ever distance you choose go ahead and enjoy ,
after all you are the one shooting the style of your choice . Just remember not to shoot RATSO , he is not a rat and maybe
considered human depends on which side of his family you talk to .

I was commenting the generic shooting style. If you want pcp content then it works well for shooting rats with Drozd at close range.
Your talking about combat shooting and shooting with a weapon of a higher caliber to kill a person in combat . There is a huge difference between that

shooting that you are talking about at that distance is done at an extreme close range and the shot can be done with any digit of the hand or your
even your big toe if needed . At that distance even your dick would work , your index finger has no real play in any kind of usefull function in this
type of shooting . If you still have doubts then I strongly suggest that talk to a hand surgeon , I spent many years assisting them doing hand surgery
and hand reconstruction .

It works fine for human size targets at 50+M. The purpose is to pump lead in to target as fast as possible, not to make clean head shots. Using you index finger to point saves you a fraction or two of a second in getting the gun to point the target.

stock to make a fast or quick kill anatomically due to muscles and tendons alignment in the hand you can not prevent trigger pull . The type of

The index finger should rest on the stock pointing the rifle. This is not for the sniper work, rather for a quick shots at close range. Try it, it works rather well for that.

Learn to pull the trigger with your middle finger while pointing with your index finger, works with most guns.

We use black powder silhuettes at 25, 50, 75 and 100M and bigbore airguns while shooting offhand. Those rams at 100M are tough ones, you need over 150fpe to knock them down. Personally I see no advantage in using finger pointing technique in that sport, after all it’s the gun that wobbles – not my finger 😆
