This is what he found
And another question came in “Hi – can you please share the list of 9 issues you’ve found with this gun? I only counted 5 or 6 in you comments! ”
These are the bullet points (same order and number in the letter to AoA) but I didn’t include all the detail as part of it was between me and Kevin in AoA repair. Kevin has been great about this so far by the way….
1) Barrel to scope rail alignment. Can’t zero w/o shimming under the rear of the scope..
2) Lower rail does not accept Atlas Bipod Quick disconnect correctly.
3) 30+fps spread on sorted pellets. I expect 10 for a regulated gun with sorted pellets.
4) Grouping at 50 yards isn’t what I expect from a gun like this. If I can consistently shoot 1/4″ with my .177 and .22 air rifles, I expect the Impact to at least compete.
5) I detailed my thoughts on the Impacts match trigger to AoA. There is a post about it on this forum.
6) I am measuring 2lbs of force on the rear of the pellet to move them forward from the magazine to the barrel. Why they are using a pellets skirt as a mechanical stop on a $1900 gun is beyond me when they got the mechanical index correct years ago on other FX guns. That 2 pounds on the side of the pellet moving from the magazine is visibly damaging/shaving the pellet skirt.
7) My .25 shroud needs O rings.
8) The darn fill port wasn’t changed on my gun and the “fix” they sent wouldn’t adapt to my hose w/o having to use it for all my other guns as well. So I was using tweezers and needle noses to disconnect.
9) My label on the hard case was for a .22 Impact with no magazine. The gun in the case was a .25 and .30. Someone changed the label (visibly in different ink) to update it from a .22 no mag to a .25 and .30.
I ended with a paragraph on my overall thoughts on the Impact and a suggestion to AoA of how I’d like them to make this right. I think that is between me and AoA until they get a chance to go over the gun. I copied Jim from Precision Air on the letter as well.
