The new valve piece was coming off my tank
I just installed the new valve to my bottle and notice that the tophat stem piece comes off very easily and sometimes loose. Is this normal?

Sir Jeigo, you can remove the condors added weight if your dumping. A heavier hammer isn’t needed if you have a lighter spring. There is also the option of using a slightly heavier spring. Do you own a decent scale? I put mine (scale) on my drill press table spring on that, then bring the press down and record how much weight it takes to fully depress it. Gives me a good idea on a replacement springs. Bump the springs weight up by 25% or take out the added weight. If you take out the weight you should be OK with either .177 or .22. There is a balance between the hammer weight and the valve return spring. If you can’t find the right one let me know i have to many springs. I bought several variety packs of century springs, so i have a few different sizes which will work in the AF valves. Try the scale thing and see how much weight it takes to depress it. Then i’ll see if i have anything slightly heavier, wouldn’t need to be much.
Now when you say the tophat comes off do you mean the stem as well? If so put a drop of super glue or epoxy in the bottom of the stem retainer, that black piece of delrin the stem goes into. That will keep it in place. Thank you, WOK 😀 Just had a talon valve in which the stem was glued into the delrin piece, toook a bit to remove, but managed with a little advice.

Its the new condor valve that I ordered from Airforce. It came with a lighter striker weight, new tophat and stem piece, valve seat and body. I can now fill my tank to 3000 psi and have adjustable power.
Dono if I am following what is occuring. What new valve re type etc??

900 fps seems a little low for a condor in .22 with Cp’s. I’m getting more thatn that with a hot rodded valve and 18″ Bbl. in my Talon SS. With Kokiaks!
Using that stronger spring, what kind of velocities do you get on full power using .22 pellets? My old valve was shooting 14.3gr .22 at 900 fps with that spring, that’s why I switched back to a lighter one.
Don’t know. That stronger spring sucks for the .22. You need to make up your mind. Do you want a set up for .177 or .22? Then use the appropriate spring.

You need what every other person tried to get away from….a stiff condor valve spring. I bet someone here has one.
People want a softer spring and new valve for the condor. You need a tank and valve set up just for .177 and another for .22.
I also notice that I get valve dumps when I use a .177 barrel and lighter spring. The dumps happen at full or medium power when the tank has 1200 to 1400 psi remaining.
For what it is worth, just returned a valve that tried to shoot the top and stem across the room..luckly wan’t under full pressure or it would have shot through the wall.
Does it have set screws on it? And if it does are they tight? When I get my top hat set to where I want it I use blue loctite to make it stay put.

Thanks. I’ll try adding glue if the stem/tophat it keeps coming off.
