The shroud blew off the gun
I had an Air Hog shroud go shooting off the end of my Condor yesterday and it flew about 30 yards. I swear it would have knocked a man down.
I had thought I had tightened down the grub screw pretty good but obviously I didn’t …..The pellet didn’t strike the end of the shroud.
It is as simple as tightening down the grub screw very tight or should I drill a small hole for the grub screw to seat in. I don’t want this to happen again and end up with a damage shroud. I was lucky this time as the shroud landed in the grass and no damage..

I had a lot of people stopping by to look at the new Condor with the WOKBUTT attached. I had the gun sitting out to where everyone could see it as they walked into the shooting area. I had quite a few comments about how nice it looked but what was cool is the people who actually did shoot the gun or at least shoulder it. They all had a remark of how good the gun felt when shouldered. It the gun hadn’t of malfunctioned there would have been a lot more shooters behind the trigger. I was a bit of an attraction. Then Nebraska Mike brought out his .25 Condor and he got the same reaction from the shooters. I think there will be a few orders placed for Condor and Talons along with the WOKBUTT in the near future. For sure I bet ya.. I just told him to say, “Will sent me”

I believe I sent Nebraska one not to long ago also.
I told Van that I would return it to him..
I will be setting up the chrony shortly and start running some strings and see if I can learn how to set this gun up.
Looks as if all is good with the gun and I am good to go..
What are you going to do with the old shroud? I could use it for testing.
Van told me to adjust the tophat in a wee wee bit until there was hardly any tension with the bolt. I loosened the two grub screws and turned the tophar 1/4 turn. I recharge the air tank and now have a little over 50 shots through her with no problems. I have the power wheel on 6 at this time.

What about the tank dumping issue. What did Van say?
I gave Van a call and explained to him about the shroud flying off of the gun and he said that he was just going to send me a new one. He said there was no reason to take any chances with the shroud that turned into a projectile. Van will just replace it with a new one and go on from there. Great service to say the least. I have to give credit where credit is due..

I will drill a small hole for sure. I wish I would have done a little research on this shroud I have. I would have been darned upset if the shroud would have been damaged. I wonder how Van will feel about me drilling holes into one of his shroud. I will find out..Thanks guys..
Turn the shroud and make sure it does not block the view down the barrel at all. When you get it aligned mark through the set screw hole with a sharpie and then drill a light dimple for the set screw to sit in.
Install the set screw and the shroud will not shoot off again.
Adam is right on. A friend of mine had the same issue with an ah shroud. They do not for whatever reason put a countersink in the shroud for the grubscrew to seat into. Check allignment first as said above then put about a 1/16″ deep countersink on the shroud where the grub screw contacts (it will have left a mark from where you tightened it down the first time. problem solved.
Put the shroud on the gun and look down the barrel throught the breech end, take the tank off to do this.

Strewth m8, that does sound lethal 😀 bet it must of looked good from a spectators point of view (well if they weren’t in the line of fire 😯 ) Glad to hear it landed safely, also you got it sorted. nice one
