Thiago’s Brazilian Side-lever vs AirGun Technology Side lever…

It all started back in October 28th, 2016, I contacted Thiago Mascarenhas (the creator of the Brazilian side lever) to order his .25 Vulcan side lever and for a METAL side plate, since AirGun Technologies metal side lever was not for sale at the time. About a week later, Thiago finally emailed me back & told me to just send him $130 for the product + $35 for shipping + 6.5% for PayPal. Overall, out of my pocket, I paid $175.72 shipped from Brazil to my door. I paid his asking price on November 6th, 2016. As time past, I would email Thiago about every week requesting for an update to when I might be receiving my side lever and metal side plate. Thiago would give me excuses after excuses about how production was slow and they were on vacation for a week. So on December 13th, 2016 I emailed Thiago to ask him to kindly refund my PayPal funds b/c I was tired of waiting/requesting for his products, and that he was taking too long to make and ship his side lever and metal side plate to me. I sent Thiago 2 email request over 2 weeks to refund my Paypal funds and received no response from Thiago. On Wednesday, December 28th, 2016, I was tired of waiting, so I filed a PayPal descripency claim against Thiago on the bases of he not fulfilling his side of the contract for not making/shipping his product to me. I escalated the Paypal claim as the weeks went  by and finally I received an email from Thiago after he ignored all my request for a refund. On January 17th, 2017, Thiago emailed me that the metal side lever and plastic abs sideplate was ready to be shipped express shipping & he apoligized for the delay. Thiago asked me to revoke my PayPal dispute. I emailed Thiago saying I did not pay for a plastic abs side plate and that I paid for a metal one which he agreed upon from his earlier emails. Plus, I was not going to pull my PayPal dispute b/c I did not receive Thiago’s products yet. 

On December 24th, 2016 I decided to order the Airgun Technology metal sidelever and metal sideplate from Evgeny. Two weeks later, AGN Technologies sidelever and metal side plate arrives at my house. I am very impressed at the top notch quality, functionality, and ease of installation of this product.

I finally received Thiago’s items in the mail and decided to inspect his products. After inspecting Thiago’s metal sidelever and plastic abs side plate, I was very saddened by the quality and workmanship that was put into Thiago’s products. It was a dead giveaway that Thiago’s side lever was not up to par when one sees tiny orings attaching pivot pins to the arm preventing the side lever to fall apart. I also did not like how the side lever showed a irregular uneven counter sunk hole from a hand held power drill for the screw to be seated.

For the money and time frame I waited for this product, I can really say that this product is subpar. Hand tool marks are seen on many parts which is disappointing. Thiago’s side lever is held together by screws/rods/nuts & orings. Parts that needed have no Loctite apparent.

The main pin that holds the moving joint on the sidelever can & will fall out anytime and can be very dangerous.

The nut that holds the handle to the arm can loosen itself and needs loctite. I emailed Thiago back stating that his product is unsatisfactory and that I do not want his items because I was afraid of endangering my family’s life and/or my life. I would not want this item on a +$1000 airgun & I would not trust this item at the same time. To me it is a major safety hazard. Thiago again emails me requesting me to withdraw my PayPal dispute & tells me I was being unfair. I told Thiago that the Paypal dispute will continue and that I will send Paypal all our previous conversations through email to prove what had occurred. I also requested Thiago to verify his return address so that I can ship his product back to him at my expense. I continued to turn in all emails to Paypal to let Paypal decide who was correct. Again Thiago requested for me to pull my Paypal dispute, and again I requested for Thiago to verify his return address to return his product. A week past & Paypal awarded me my $175.72 to my Paypal account. I emailed Thiago my third and last email for his verification of his return address so I can ship his items back to him and to this day, no response.

As of right now Evgeny’s sidelever is on my Gen 1 .25 Vulcan pup. The action is very smooth to cock backwards & forwards. Plain & simple, this gun shoots very accurate ropes every time I shot her.
