Some guys are happy with .177 so, I guess I’ll just settle with 50yds and my .25 cal.
50 yds is a good challenge for me at my level of marksmanship, maybe I’ll get good enough to get bored with it and have to resort to longer range?

I use 5 gal buckets on my range filled with rubber mulch to catch the bullets.
So once the lead, molds, and heat source is paid for, it is virtually free! 😀
RC posted that it cost him around 2.oo a 100 for the bullets he was casting. So yes, cheaper than pellets. That wold be 7 bucks for 350 .257’s at 3 or 4 times the weight of 350 .25 JSB Kings. Woo-Hoo. More FPE. Better accuracy. Better long range performance. Less drop at long range, with much better retained down range terminal balistics. It works very well. 😎
Almost too well. Gotta be a catch. And there is.These guns are AIR HOGS! And other than the very expensive Drummen Sinner, Not really an off the shelf item. So Planning is required. 😉

So you cast your own bullets? And they are cheaper than pellets? Any links I can study?
Nope! We found out that casting for these guns is cheaper and more accurate, at longer range, with a LOT more retained energy. So shooting pellets in them is pretty much a waste of time, and MONEY! 😉

Agreed, but I hope a few guys do it anyway!
It would surly seem the prize is bragging rights more than a few pellets that cost less than range fee.
I would be VERY impressed if someone could pull this off, I’ve printed a decent ammount of sub 1″ groups at 100 yards with my S510 but I think there is no friken way I could do it three times in a row :o. It should be interesting though 🙂
If what it takes is a managed range such that transportation and range fees cost less than a few tins of pellets, no.

That 2.00 bucks a hundred from RC was without reclaiming. My cost is probably around 25 or 30 cents a hundred. If that much. Woo-Hoo!!! 😀
It would be cheaper still, but I do like to plink things out in the field a lot. 😆
