Q:

Threading the frame

If someone had the right tap and die set to thread an end cap for a screw in fit rather than a set screw fit, other than voiding the warranty, would it harm the gun in any way ? I have a TT shroud that is constantly coming lose and effecting accuracy. Would love to have it fitted into a screw in bushing for a threaded frame Condor or Talon. :biggrinn:

Blue loc tire did the trick . Thanks.

Frame ID usually is right around 1.014″ so there is no tap size that would work.

There is nothing wrong with a grub screw holding it. I hold my shrouds on that way. My .308 make 300 fpe I have one on the top also on it.

My .257 only has the stock screw holding on the shroud. It’s been 4 years and thousands of rounds.

Biggest thing is the shroud needs to fit the frame without slop. I also make the part that slides into the frame 1.50″ long. Use blue loctite on the set screw.

No luck with photo
