To all that shoot long range 100+ yards with a AF rifle
I know many of you guys have in the past or do now make long shots with your rifle. I was just wondering what sort of accuracy are you getting and whats your spec? Thanks

I use a Talon extended frame, 25 caliber 17 inch dechoked barrel, Dyotat valve, heavy spring, .082wire, 135 gram hammer, 56 grain cast LBT bullet sized .255 for my 2549 barrel, lubed with ATF.
I also use a angled tank adapter and a Madog stock, I have tried different breeches but usually go back with stock AF.
150 yard groups there are 4 shots into less than 1 inch in the top group.
For 275 yard groups I am still working on fill PSI, it seems to prefer the lower pressures. The above groups were sent with 3400 PSI, but for some reason the 275 yard shooting the rifle likes 2800-2700 PSI and the lower velocity, best group doing this yesterday was 4 inches at 275 yards.
My best group to date was 1.5 inches after three shots at 286 yards, being no fool I declined to send two more down range, A fluke of course as most groups on a good day go around 4.5 to 5 inches at that range like the group in the lower picture.
1.5 inch 3 shot group

I shoot tethered to a 44 cft tank filled to what ever PSI I am workng with.
I really like the Bushnell 3200 Tactical 5×15, but I run out of adjustments at ranges past 250 yards so I primarily use the Leupold VXIII 30 MM SF LR scope with 106 minutes of elevation and a Holland MOA reticle. I have to dial in 61 MOA from a 40 yard zero to get a hold on POI for 275 yards.
My target is a 3×4 foot 3/16th inch steel plate with a 8 inch suspended gong bulls eye.
I use Handloader.coms ballistic program for the cast bullets and unlike Chairgun, Handloader.com is precise.
My biggest problem is lack of benchrest technique, I shoot off the hood of my Ford Explorer, the advantage is that most portable benchrests are not all wheel drive. 😉
Some day I will sell this outfit and get a Haley 25 and really get serious.
