Q:

To buy or not.

Looks like if you have a talon or talon ss there is no clear reason to buy the talon p. It’s the talon frame which from what I’ve seen here is the smallest so it becomes the stubby with the new small tank. A stubby that’s loud enough to need a shroud. So the ss has the extra length to suppress within the frame. Since Anthony says all tanks fit all guns the smaller tank could be on the ss and you have the p shrouded. I’m guessing the direct flo would be louder than the standard tank on the ss so a better shroud would be needed. I liked Anthony’s pics and that new valve. Love to see what it would do on my gun, but like more than ten shots.

Now correct me if I’m wrong, but there is no real good reason to buy the p other than you don’t have an airforce gun already or you just want one. Like one guy said, maybe I’ll wait till it hits airgundaily.

Did you do the transfer port tube mod only?

I still got my Talon SS. So this is great news..

Only problem is the Talon ‘P’ isn’t a pistol… You can use a Prod in FT matches but not a ‘P’, unless you remove the tank and then i’m pretty sure the Prod would blow the doors of the ‘P’ in a test session…

Oh how are your one hand groups with the Prod compared to the ‘P’? You know, the way you shoot a pistol…

If your going to get a Talon ‘P’ and stick a stock on it why limit your shot count with a smaller tank…? 😕

So if you had to chose one rifle, would you chose the ‘P’ or the Condor?

Comparing the ‘P’ to the Prod is like testing a sports car against a truck in terms of cornering and calling the truck a sports car… Or simply put comparing an orange pie to apple pie…

The Talon ‘P’ is NOT a pistol…

Ever heard of a round square?
Didn’t think so… 😉

well, syn, my super streak has a recoil lug thats round on 2 sides, flat on 2…how ya like dem apples? :12:

I have the Talon-P and the Benjamine Maraud-P… Neither is for sale, and I paid the same for eatch = or- a few dollars, Benjaimin in a 22 and talon-P in 25,,, IMHO the Talon-P by compairson is so far ahead of the Maraud-P that they are no resemblance. The talon P of mine has the stock installed so both are small carbines, and for a short trip and hunting Squirells the marau will do, But if I run upon a racoon at 45 yards I’d fell better when I got my Talon-P 😀
Modifying the marod-P and all the tunning I see here is a waist of time when there is the Talon-P that is better at the same price out of the box. 😀

seig heil, adolf hootler! we need to gather the TAG militia and march on Ft. Worth!

3) An optional regulator in various psi configurations, built into the bottle.

4) A button mamoneter located anywere on the rifle to tell us where we are with pressure.

5) A quick fill located anywhere on the rifle.

I would gladly pay extra for any of these improvements on my rifle. Bolt-on’s are a blessing, but built-in is always cosmetically and design efficient.

^^^ YES.

AF seems to want their elite management eam tell their customers what we need and want.

Their reaction/response to customer advisories as to what would make their pcp a truly user-friendly, and more efficient instrument goes unnoticed.

For example:

1) A safety that is redesigned and functional. Not a piece of clothes hanger wire with a red tube on it, that fails repeatedly, and is uncomfortable to use.

2) A choice of bottle size to give customers control over capacity best suited to their needs.

3) An optional regulator in various psi configurations, built into the bottle.

4) A button mamoneter located anywere on the rifle to tell us where we are with pressure.

5) A quick fill located anywhere on the rifle.

6) Finally, a genuine, two stage, adjustable trigger.

7) Grow a pair…and put a Marauder quality baffled shroud out as an option. Crosman is doing it!

8) Dare I even mention a multi-shot, self indexing, magazine?????

None of these mods would cause dramatic increases in price, especially if the buyer could choose the options he/she/it desire in their pcp.

None of this is impossible, beyond minor changes in design, or equipment add on’s.

I would gladly pay extra for any of these improvements on my rifle. Bolt-on’s are a blessing, but built-in is always cosmetically and design efficient.

However, acceptance of customer input is definitely NOT one of AF’s strong suits. Shame. They have a potential world class functional design with just a few improvements, and inexpensive ones at that. I’d gladly pay for any of them.

Kindest regards,

Uncle Hoot 😯
