Q:

Todays readings on my 2013 Condor/Need feed back please.

Some one told me there must be something wrong with my crony? Theses are the numbers I got today?

This Condor is 24″ LW barrel, has stock hammer, Stock valve and stock Top Hat that has outta box settings. I do have a small O-Ring behind the Top Hat. I removed the rubber Fender Washer on the Hammer side of the breech.

All shot’s were taken with 43.2 grain EunJins

Crony at 2ft with 2800 psi in tank

982.3 fps……………92.58 ftp (11 on power wheel)
974.7 fps……………91.16 ftp (11 on power wheel)

Crony at 55 ft with 2800 psi in tank

906.6 fps……………78.86 ftp (11 on power wheel)
898.3 fps……………77.43 ftp (11 on power wheel)

Crony at 2ft with 3000 psi

1001 fps…………..96.14 ftp (full power)
992.9 fps………….94.59 ftp (full power)

Crony at 55ft with 3000 psi

930 fps………….83.09 ftp (full power)
913 fps………….80.10 ftp (full power)

From my experience this gun shoots best below 970fps between 970fps and 890fps with 18.13 JSB EXACT Jumbo Heavy Diabolo pellets in both .22 and .25 caliber.

The .22 caliber appears to have tighter groups then the .25 caliber but then again my .22 barrel is 18″ where as my .25 barrel is 24″ this could play into it as well.

Thanks Dave that was informative.

I was told there maybe something wrong with my crony because of these high numbers on a stock Condor? Anyone have numbers this high?

Thanks
Oakey

Try shooting the JSB .25 25.4g between 870 and 930fps in groups at 50 yards. 10 shot groups should stay with 1” 1 ½”. Also when starting your chrony testing, try to use as little power wheel pre-load as possible.

I’ve discovered the more preload you have the greater the inaccuracy occurs. This may be due to “jerking” the trigger to get the sear to release.

Start with your top hat out to about .110” and a 2500psi fill with the power wheel on “0” and check your FPS. If your first couple of shots are low ( I don’t think they will be ) rotate your preload about a half a turn after each shot until your FPS is above 870 but below 930. If the shots are above 930, lower your top hat .005” after a couple of shots until your below 930. When you get somewhere in the middle, fill your tank back to 2500 and start your chrony string. If your first or second shot is over the 930, back the power wheel down a half turn. Test again.

I’ve never gotten the EunJin pellets to shoot well, not at a distance over 30 yards. I think the general consensus for .25 pellets are JSB’s as a first choice and the Benjamin Domes and the Kodiaks vying for 2nd.

If you insist shooting the EunJin’s, try slowing them down to sub 800 and check accuracy and go up from there.

Your right about the .22 JSB’s. Mine .22 shoots them at 900 with excellent accuracy well out to 100 yards.

Hope this helps, keep us posted on your results.

Dave
