It was just posted on the yellow that the 75 meter winner used a FX Bob Cat 30 cal. Ted in Madison came in second and Fredric was third. It didn’t say what 2nd and 3rd used.

Well, of course i’m NOT 100 percent all smiles and happy about it but I am NOT as angry as many think I am. Again, just not a competitive shooter so I have no reputation or goals to meet by the end of the event. So in all honesty, since I missed the event, there is NOTHING on my end loss.
I know the game and so do many others so I just say my peace and let the shit go. But at least enough folks got involved and said their peace about the event. So far, it seems that every year the event has been going, there has been some controversary.
This years controversy was Doug and I not being able to use our 257’s and the fact that it been about 2 days now and its taking FOREVER to post results of the event. BUT WAIT, I HEARD A HISPANIC GUY FROM MEXICO WON THE EVENT AND TED GOT 2nd AND FREDERICK GOT 3rd. Last year, the results were up pretty quick. Much quicker than this year. Someone said that they got the info from a Mexican Airgun forum. But nothing from this side yet………

1st, EXACTLY SIR! EXACTLY! Any person with SOME intelligence should be able to figure that out. I could have competed with my Rapid 25 and it would have been competitive. But, i did NOT practice solely with my Rapid. I did with my TD though….lol!
2ndly, i am not even a competitive shooter. But i have shot competitions before and guess what, everytime i did, i went into the event fully knowing the rules and THEY POSTED THEM and no event EVERY CHANGED RULES last minute.
Honestly though guys, i’m actually DAYS OVER THIS SHIT. I was over it pretty much the next day. I’m no competitive shooter so i have nothing in this. I just wanted to meet folks and talk gun shit. But, there will be plenty of future time for that.
Anyone who is saying you should change guns has NEVER competed in airgun competitions. Ok, they may have shown up but they were never competitive…
You change rifles and kiss your chances of even being competitive goodbye.
You practice on a certain rifle with it’s SPECIFIC ballistics, change that last minute and you are shit.
This was my second full year in AAFTA field target with my main rifle and I placed second in Texas and won the Grand Prix for the year. Had I switched rifles the week before the Texas match I would NOT have placed second, one point behind first place. I placed third in my first year and 15th in the Grand Prix standings. The best way to fuck up my game was to mess with a different rifle between matches… Just using a different rifle was enough to mess with my shooting, not even competing with a different rifle. Change a scope and lose points. Change the scope height and lose points.
Switch rifles… 🙄
That’s what I was saying also. Awards were at 3:00 and no one can post the results. Must have been won by a gun that AoA doesn’t sell.

I still think that it is a crime the way that AOA waited until the last minute to change the rules. If Doug hadn’t called ahead, you and Doug wouldn’t even have found out about the rule change until you got there.
If I would have drove 800 miles only to find out that I couldn’t shoot: I would have went ballistic, did a bunch of ranting, might have ended up in jail and for sure wouldn’t be allowed back again: ever. 😳
After the 1600 mile round trip with nothing to show for it: I wouldn’t want to go back anyhow!

Looking at that Google map of the area pisses me off even more now. THANKs DUDES….lol!. that shit looks stupid as funk 😆 It looks like 2 roads parallel the range. regardless of how far the road are from that range, the location just looks dumb and not well thought out at all. to me, it looks like a 30 FPE range ONLY 😆 😀
Just for clarification, i’m all about safety 1st and foremost. I think many of us here are. we now now that airguns are not toys and should be treated like firearms. therefore a range should reflect this idea and train of thought. AoA does not seem to be too smart in choosing this place. i mean “COME ON MAN”, this place was the absolute best they could find to host this event knowing airguns can kill pretty far out. Its friggen AZ for crying out loud. Which means the whole lousy state is just like California……..ITS ALL OPEN DESERT. Back to my point though so everyone here can understand. When i 1st heard of this “no slug rule”, i was at work. The info given to me by Doug was that AoA and GVGC simply said “NO” to slugs. And at this time, none of us knew the gun club was really and airgun club that’s limited on “SAFETY”. No one. Well, accept AoA and the Gun club itself. Which they choose not to address in the past simply because the event was raking in about 10000 bucks on just admission alone and many of the prizes are given to the event for FREE (lotsa profit for AoA and the gun club). So when i made my MAD reply, none of the ranges issues were known. And this FACT is very important as to why i responded in anger.
So now we move forward to when i found out that the range was literally a “DAISY RED RYDER BB GUN” range and nothing more. And that there was a road behind the range and there was fear of someone being hit by MY BULLET and not a 30 cal pellet! Well, after this, i’m no longer mad, i’m just very disappointed on the cancellation (last minute). Why, because i do care about safety and safety is first and at that point, i wouldn’t shoot my TD257 at that range even if they paid me. SERIOUSLY!
What would have prevented this whole argument/cancellation would have been for someone (jim chapman, Steve Smith, AoA, Ted in Madison, Frederick Axelson? and others) who has been to the event years ago to say…….”HEY GUYS, SOMETHING AINT RIGHT HERE, THERE IS A FRIGGEN ROAD DOWN RANGE AND EVERYTIME I LOOK THROUGH MY SCOPE AT 25-30X, i can see families driving down that road quite happy”. Maybe we should relocate. But people there are more about taking 1st and collecting all the freebies. Just like when the Yellow does the yearly give away, people are just into getting something for free. And guess what, i didn’t put my name in that giveaway either. I was sorely disappointed with the grinches that asked selfish questions last year.
Buuuuuuuuuuttttt ohhhhhh no, if you read a few of the yellow forums responses to me, i’m the bad guy and i need to stop whining cause my “ADVANTAGE” got shut down…LOL! Well FUCK, doesn’t the 30 cal have an advantage over the smaller calibers too?! Hell yes it does, i shot one recently in high winds that was blowing over 16 mph at 90 yards and i can tell you personally, in that kind of wind, Dave G’s 30 gun would kick my Rapid 25 ass hands down. With no wind, they are about even in accuracy. I shot his gun at that range in that wind against my 257 and guess what, YES, MY 257 HAD AN ADVANTAGE. The TD has less hold over and it grouped much better in that wind. So yeah, i had an advantage but so does the FX owner. A person who shoots a 30 cal diablo gun can guess less in the wind that someone with a 22 or 25 that has more experience. So a person with less experience could actually win and shoot out if he has the 30. Couple that with the owner of the FX company (who has a shit load of shooting experience) and you have a winner hands down. So now, what the difference between me and him? That’s right, i can’t shoot the event…..loL!
For the record, its guys like neil clague and a few others that pissed me off more than the last minute change with calling me a whiner. I never gave the man business and i never fucking will. he is on the same list as AoA with me.
