took edgun 2.5 and brand new chrony out to the range
i was wondering if any one can help i took my edgun out to the range today and along with it a new chrony beta i just picked up. before leavin homei filled the gun to 200 psi. i shot the first shot and the chrony read
845, took a few more shots like 7-8 it stayed in that range 840-850
after 10 shots through the edgun i noticed it was shooting around 865.
i looked at the gauge it was at about 190 psi i continued shooting and it seemed like every 7-8 shots i took the speed went up about 10 feet per second , by the time i hit 120 bar i was shooting at 935 fps i read that these guns are pretty consistent with their speed on the chrony so just wondering if any one else has experienced this problem and if ther is a solution. i sighted it in at 50 yards by the time iwas at 120bar i was 2.5 to 3 inches high on my 50yard target thanx in advance for any replies 😕

I’ll try to get to the range later on today to take some pics of my results. I purchased it used it’s a 2.5 22 cal standard . I’m waiting on 2 new r3 25 cal 😀 impatiently waiting thanx jazz /old goat

please show 2 x 5 shot groups at 930 fps and 2 x 5 shot groups at 890 fps please 🙂
Hi Sparky. Welcome to the Edgun owners club!
First of all, what do you have, a 22 or 25 cal, long or standard version?
Your topic says R2.5, if it is a R2.5, it is used and not new. If you just got a gun from Tony, it is a R3.
If you are happy with the gun shooting at 935fps, you can just turn the hammer spring tension screw in until the gun starts out at 935 after you fill it. It should stay in the 930 range for the full fill. Except for Kazzz, ( 😆 ) most people like the gun to shoot in the 880-900fps range.
To turn it down to that speed, you will need to adjust the regulator down. If that sounds like something that you don’t want to do, you might try blocking off part of the transfer port. Order http://www.mcmaster.com/#9559K12 O rings from McMaster Carr. If you don’t open up the ID of them, they might block off enough of the transfer port passage and you may be able to just use the HST screw to get a flat shot string.
If you use the unmodified Teflon O rings and get good results; please let us know!
Did you always shoot consistent over the chrony? Meaning same distance and horizontal line over the sensors?
There are other threads on this forum where people were looking for the most flattest curve, try to search them and see what could be interesting for you. OG posted alreadt A LOT about this..
