Q:

Tool for removing Edgun shroud cap

Does anyone know which tool is used to remove the cap from the Matador shroud and where I can find them? Mine is locked so tight that it is impossible to remove without the correct tool. Thanks in advance.

Thanks! I managed to assemble the piece I’ll need locally.

So, now I can stare at my new piece of gas hardware……because UPS still has not delivered that gun :(. Yesterday it was funny. Today it’s frustrating. One more day will surely lead to despair. These are the stages of Edgun waiting. Ugh!

You’ll need this. Should be available from most paintball shop.

Btw, hope you already have a male foster nipple ready to attach to the fill probe. I made the mistake on my first Matador ordering from PA on a Monday thinking it should arrive by end of week. Well, it arrived 4 days after the Edgun and that was a long wait. 😡 Anyway, hope the truck stops by soon! 😀

Oh, great! Here’s comes Part 2 of this dog and pony show… I thought
the fill probe was threaded on one end. So, it’s a female foster on one
end and the fill probe on the other? I have a female foster quick connect
(that I was using to fill my Marauder). So, will a male to male adapter
work? I can probably find that locally. There are a lot of HPA businesses
in the area.

This is what I already own: http://www.hamcontact.com/airgun/HoseAssembly/hoseassembly.jpg

how long is the gun?

According to Edgun.ru it is 26.5″. Three inches doesn’t sound like much, but I’ll bet it makes a big difference to the feel of what is already a very tiny gun. I’ll bet the Marauder pistol is the same size. 😉

(Sorry for jumping in, Khadux – I have nothing else to do right now).

Ted, thanks for jumping in, I took a measurement of it just now and it is 27 1/3 inches long, from end of the shroud to the farthest point of the buttpad. The 26.5″ figure is to the end of the stock not including the buttpad.

When I took delivery, it was shooting at an average of 843 fps with 18.1. Since then, I’ve tested with the power up and down and now settled at an average of 855 fps. In the morning when I had the power set at 890 fps. it gave me 50 good, consistent shots with minimal poi changes . I suspect it will be about 55 good shots with the current setting of 855 fps.

Btw, with 2 full turns of the spring adjuster from the original setting, it was shooting at 920 fps with great accuracy but a bit louder. 1 full turn increased the velocity to 890 fps matching the velocity of the Standard Matador that Ed had set. Currently, it is 1/4 of a turn from the original setting for an increased of 12 fps.

Ha Ha, good one! In March, I got tired of waiting for the long version so I bought a FX Royale with the intension of making a bull pup out of it. Nice gun but, WAY too long, shot it one day and then tore it down. Made a bull pup out of it. Call it a Teddgun. It just ain’t the same as an Edgun tho.

I really like your short version. What is the fps with 18.1 JSBs? Shot count before it comes off of the reg?

Iv’e had too many beers and shots, better go to bed before I send Tony an I want one email.

I think not if your name is Ted. Soon enough, you’ll be called Tedgun 😛 .

Damn you khadux. I am trying to pay off some bills and have a new roof put on before I take early retirement. Now you have got me wanting the short version and I haven’t even taken delivery of my long version 25 cal yet! If Ed keeps bringing new stuff out, I may never get to retire.

Sweet gun by the way. The short version would be even easier to pull out from behind my truck seat if I saw something that needed shot.

Ted, it is neoprene sticky pads. A couple of members here were using it. They make excellent cheek rest, hand grip and protects the metal well since I’m too clumsy and always run into things. 🙂

Thanks! I grabbed 5 sheets of it. That stuff will have 101 uses!

What do you have covering the tip of the air resevoir, shroud, and breech? I also see the material on the base of the forward stock.

Thanks for posting the photo. Thanks to UPS taking their sweet time, it’s as close as I’ll get to an Edgun for another day…. 😡

Took this picture in comparison with the carbine and extra fac S410s as far as in length. Again, amazing compact size and just a little bit longer than the Mac1 LD pistol.

Might try a small rubber strap wrench.

So you got the new gun huh? Show us some pics.

Yes, the short Matador came in last Friday. Accuracy is the same as the standard. I just love the compact size of it and still have plenty of consistent shots. The new shroud end cap is a bit different where it doesn’t have any surface to strap on with the wrench. I’ll post some pictures tonight.
