top hat ajustment
I am deathly afaid to ajust my top hat because my rifle is just a fucking tackdriver.
However , just for shits and giggles could i ajust my top hat to get a lower amount of air flow for a .177, or to bring my rifle down to 20 footpounds?

I think Ill go with “” dont touch it “” I havent tried under filling yet , I suspect that would work pretty good .
I would like to try the 0 ring , but not sure how to attach it .
Hey, are we talking a Condor Tackdriver with Hi-Flow valve or Talon Tackdriver with original or Hi-Flow valve?
What ever, if you have the Hi-Flow valve, call AF and get a couple Hi-Flow valve stems complete with Top Hats and Grub Screws (Grub Screws are not included with the Top Hat).
You can then remove the original Valve Stem/Top Hat leaving it as is with it’s grub screws. Next, polish the new valves and Top Hats to your satisfaction , set one to identical length of your original, insert it gently (a valve cap or pump adapter will help but don’t go to far).
Then experiment with the new valves.
The original valve will eventually get re-used or more likely polished and re-used.
Having more than one valve allows multiple set-ups for a wide variety of pellet weights and different caliber barrels.
x2 what ssshooter or Pablouk said, never used the oring, but I under fill to 2200 using Wally World crosman .22 hollow points. They’re a blast bugbusting and plinking. Sniped mo grass hoppers then ever, seems the real varmints have disappeared!
The quality/QC of the Wally word crosman hollow points took a dive, some fall out the breech, other fall out the muzzle?

Another option is to under fill… I have one tank at 1400 for plinking with R10 7.0gn 177 wadcutters. I get 80 shots at 20 yards before it starts to rainbow.

Rather than adjust anything, just put a little oring behind the TH to reduce power, as pioneered by PB. You might get lucky and be at the power you want.
If it ain’t broke, leave it alone! you’ll regret it!

just like a rubber, choose a snug fit, roll it over the tophat ! once over It may be loose, but never no danger, ever falling off. ha ha.
