Top hat issues
Hi all I just got a new talonp at Christmas, shot the thing a few times and then noticed the tophat was loose!
Is this normal? or should I return this one?

The QCTH fits Condor and Talon P tanks.

I assume you can retap the OEM tophat to add another set screw.
Depends on what “overtightened” means in your case

Well seems like I have over tighten the set screws! I have gone ahead a bought the talontunes one piece. I hope this will fix the problem.
I didn’t want to ship it back. I’d really like to know what the deal is with Airforce. can’t reach them at all?
Hi,
I just got a talonP tank and the top hat got loose after shooting it about 100 pellets.
I am not sure if this is poor quality control, but I guess they just don’t put enough torque on those set screwes when they first ship them.
I actually had this issue mentioned on one of my other threads cause I was shooting and I had a sudden air dump from the talonP tank.
After I checked for other issues I saw the tophad was badly loose. It was probably over extended when the dump happened.

Then there are two set screws to tighten it up (gently, it’s apparently easy to dent the valve stem).

It was only loose at the top part not the entire thing.
You should not be able to pull it out with your fingers. Its held in place with an O-ring seal.
