Top hat/stem adjustment???
I have a 22 Cal. Condor and on the top hat it has 2 small set screws and will screw up and down for adjustment. This came to me loose out of the box and really effects the way the gun shoots. Is there a setting I can do that will make my gun consistent. I would like to Loctite the set screws when I can get it figured out.

Order a 3 piece TOP Hat From TALON Tunes and toss that POS in the trash. Install the new top hat/stem with the appropriate restrictor and tune it over the crony using your power wheel. Best $$ i spent yet on the condor.
Yep, the TT top hat is awesome. That was the first thing I did when I got my Condor SS. I took a few shots with the stock top hat. Replaced with the TT, and now I’ll NEVER use the stock one. Unrestricted, it’s faster than the stock. I usually shoot
JSB 18.1’s with the small or medium insert, and inside of 80 or so yards, with gophers/ground squirrels it’s ” in one ear and out the other” accurate. IT IS BEST MONEY I HAVE SPENT ON MY AF RIFLE ALSO (So far). I never had to deal with adjusting the stock top hat becuase I never really used it. Thank god! Seems to be a real pain in the ASS.

If you are not going to use an “O” ring behind the valve, (I do), set it at .070″. With “O” ring, .090″
The drill bit shank in the stem before tightening is good advice as well. But use a high quality, well hardned Drill bit. Those damed HF rough machined drill bits will not come out once the screws are tightened. ( I have NO idea how I know that!!!) 😳 :rofl:

I can’t really help you with you factory top hat setting… but from my experience with it, it seems that A/F Teamed up with the makers of the RUBIK’s cube when they designed that setup.

Concoct a stack of automotive feeler gauges 0.090 thick as a starting point. Be careful not to crush the stem tube by overtightening the setscrews. A close-fitting drill bit slipped into the stem while tightening will help. Experiment to find your gun’s sweet spot, then do the locktite. A chronograph is extremely helpful in this.

PS A thin, close fitting o-ring behind the tophat settles the gun’s performance, so set to 0.090, add o-ring, then fine tune, and finally, locktite.

I can vouch for that tale. Ya, I didn’t nearly slice my thumb to the bone trying to extract the drill bit 👿
However, when I finally pulled the drill bit and valve stem out of the damn tank I’ll readily admit I nearly shit myself wondering if I was dead yet.
Since then I learned how easy it is to swap out the valve for a TT High Performance One piece valve stem with two additional restrictors. What a great improvement ❗
