Top mounted bipod
I have seen some pictures where bipod are mounted on the Condor or Talon top rail. Do you need an adapter or a wide stance bipod to get the spread over the frame ?

the tri rail would be in the way for my laser
the screws of the bipod legs are just in front of my frame
i have no end cap on the frame

Thanks – that’s what I needed.

That’s a grest picture. I’ll see if anyone has a partial old Tri Rail .
It’s the same old piece of shit they have been selling for years…
Didn’t I say it wasn’t as easy as flipping it over and mounting it to the top?
Why ask questions if your going to ignore the answers…?

AirGunner1,
You are correct ❗ ❗ ❗ Adapter is necessary.
I failed to mention the need for a Tri-Rail…
I had 2 Tri-Rails on my Condor at the time I was using the top mounted AF bi-pod. I got tired of all the weight, dumped the bi-pod and got the E-TaC shorty so I could lower the scope. I would suggest chopping off a piece of a Tri-Rail. I had my bi-pod on the overhanging end of the tri-rail just in front of the Power Wheel for balance.
BTW, the AF front sling mounting stud Does NOT swivel ! But still works for me using a sling hold.
I’m getting a funny feeling that there is an OLD version and NEW version of the AirForce Bipod. My picture is of the New and it can not be top mounted as there is a 1/4 inch+ gap when the legs hit the frame. Maybe the Old version was wider and could fit in a overslung manner ? Any pictures of a AirForce Bipod that is top mounted, that really shows the mount well, therefore we could determine how different it is from a New bipod ?
I threw mine out the other day it is total crap. Dont know why they even bothered, same with their laser sight. I get into buying all the accessories when i buy a new gun, but stay away from those. Whats a better way to mount a bipod? Does the harris type fit? I dont have a sling swivel stud on my condor but was gonna have tony put one on…
If you mount it the same way you would mount it to the bottom rail the legs would open upwards. NOT GOOD ❗
So, turn the mount 180 degrees on it’s pivot stud. When positioning the legs down they are angled outward and will clear the frame. The frame can pivot side to side a good amount and it’s hanging position is way better than the opposite condition of falling off to the sides.
Yes, the legs can contact the frame but there is plenty of room to stick on a couple felt feet to protect the frame from scratches.
You can have the legs open from the front to rear down or visa versa. Which ever way is more stable for you.
But how did you mount it. Mine would mount so close the legs will hit the frame if I try and put them down ?
I have mine mounted on the top of my condor. Got the idea from someone here on the forum. To me it is much more stable this way if you are using the airforce bipod which is kinda flimsy, but on top reall makes it stout. Works for me just fine this way and if you need a little heigth just adjust it on the bottom.

tried that image shit
but :12: :13: :17: :16:
it doesn’t work for me
want to tell you that with the top mouted bipod the angle that you can cant it is a bit less
but for me that is only a big advantage
i can simply leave the gun standing alone in a stable position
if you send me your mail adress i can send you the pictures
